I want to give a couple of my Beomasters (3000 family) a bit of a clean externally and have been wondering how best to go about it. Its only to remove the dirt on the switches and face plates etc. Would some cotton buds dipped in soapy water be good or would alcohol do the job (the non drinkable type of course!) I dont want to remove the printing on the front so thought I would check first.

For all my B&O, I use glass cleaner (for sunglasses), it usually works great on those aluminum surfaces. I use is for all my Beomasters (including a Beomaster 4400 :), Beograms, Beocords and even Beovox speakers. But just be sure that the type of cleaner you use doesn't remove the lettering and printings on your 3000/4000/4400, I have been using denatured alcohol for my Beomaster 6000, but not sure if the 3000 family printing can handle it.

Thanks for that. Its mainly going to be done to a newly aquired BM4400 (pics to come soon!). I wouldnt do anything to my 5000 as there are already bits that have worn off so I will leave that one alone.
