    Beogram CDX - Strange problem

Brought a CDX which was faulty. At first, if you put in a CD it would play the OK. Until you tried to go to another track. As you got further along the tracks. It would take longer for the selected track to play. Past track 7 or more, the disc would just spin but not play. Looking at the lense you could see a layer os dust on it. Cleaned the lense and it worked far better. Select a track and now plays straight away. What is happening now is that the it skips on the last two tracks. Tried a few CD's and they are all the same. They play fine in my BC9300 though, so it's not the discs. Even tried a one which I have only played ince before. Thats just the same too. It's as iff the laser is having problems the further is moves accros th disc.

It's the motor - it spins faster as you go through the tracks and it can't spin fast enough for the final tracks. Needs the motor stripping down - Tim did mine!

It's actually the other way around. The disc spins faster when reading the inner tracks, which
are the first on the disc. Geeked
But it could still be the motor control.

Replace capacitors, check for cracked solder joints at the power supply board etc. and loop leads
through the rivet vias on both the servo and decoder boards.
That will allow for a much more reliable diagnose - if needed by then.

Honestly, I would leave the motor alone until the caps and vias has been done.

Yes, and I also have the Beocenter 2600 slider that you asked for in the other thread.
