    HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

    Hi!

I'm thorn between getting a HDR2 or an internal DTV tuner (when there is one with internal HDD) to record TV shows. My first idea was to wait for a DTV module but I might change my mind, since I haven't found so many HD channels worth getting in Sweden.

The question is if HDR2 has som EPG support in Sweden? I have searched the manual with no success.

Current collection: BeoVision 7-40 mk III, BeoLab 7-4, BeoLab 3 and BeoSound/BeoMaster 5.

Seriously, it's a beautiful package of excellent and awesomeness!

Re: HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

    I have a BV-7 with DVB-HD module and a HDR2.

When I browse the EPG via the DVB-HD module, I can navigate to a show and just press Record. Then the HDR2 is set to record that show using the DVB-HD module in the BV-7.

Only issue here is that when recording the DVB-HD (DTV) is locked and you cannot change channel. This is the way it has to be as long as the HDR2 does not have a DVB tuner.

Re: HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

I`m using the DVB T/S modul in my BV7-40 and a HDR2. You can select a program for recording via EPG. The DVB T/S tuner is locked to the recorded channel, because it`s just a single tuner. HDR2 just got an analog tuner, which isn`t very helpful nowadays. You won`t have an EPG, you have to use the DVB guide You can record what you watch (any source) on your BV7 by pressing RECORD twice. HDR2 can`t record HD quality, because it just records via SCART.

Re: HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

Can I schedule future recordings through the DVB tuner EPG on the HDR2?

For example: If I can select 21/2 men from the EPG and tell the HDR2 to record this season of the show?

Current collection: BeoVision 7-40 mk III, BeoLab 7-4, BeoLab 3 and BeoSound/BeoMaster 5.

Re: HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

I am not sure it is that advanced - it will only record that one show.

To bad, I was hoping that I could use the EPG from the DTV module as base for future recordings like on a HTPC or with an external DTV-HDD tuner.

Hm, after reading the HDR2 manual I have found that it have som kind of teletext aided recording.

Is that lika en EPG? Can I browse the teletext programguide and set recordings through that interface? If any of you using it, what are your experience?

Re: HDR2, BV7 DTV and EPG

We still have the analog signals, along side the digital signals. So we often record using the internal tuner in HDR2.

When progamming we use the teletext as base of programming. You call up the relevant text page with programs. Press record and point out the show strat and end time with the curesor and confirms. Exactly as it was in the old days with VHS.

But it doesn't work with SW 8.12! There's no "record" label in the TEXT-TV menu anymore Super Angry

Crap! Well then lets hope for an internal DTV-HDD module soon...
