Re: Wednesdays© ..................................... are vastly overrated
Jandyt:
Well as I started to gather speed past W H Smith, I noticed people crossing the road at the Zebra near Johnson's Dry Cleaners. I had no choice. In an instant, I contemplated throwing my piephone at some random person, and shouting "Here, Catch!", but in the same instant, worked out that the chances of the person catching it was about 43.7%. I had no options left, so aimed toward the 6 inch high kerb. Unfortuinately, rather than riding up the kerb, it sliced it for about two meters. I didn't need to use the bell to draw attention to myself, the vibrations caused by this eternal slice were making it didng itself rapidly. I fell in a heap at the foot of a group of seven OAPs. Thaey just stood there looking down at me without speaking. I stood up and held up my piephone (Kimbo still on it) to the people and announced like a Town Crier "And this my friends, is why you should not use your phone while riding a bike!" Nobody said a word, so I turned and fled on my bike round the corner to the ginnel at the side of the Post Office where I could lick my wounds. What a pratt!
It could only happen to you, I guess. Phone still OK?

Instructor in need of 'L' plates?
Only Andy could do this. Could have taken some pictures at the same time though.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - uncanny!
When I was 16 I got my first moped (pleeease no moped model numbers etc). Within an hour I had my first serious accident - on my way to the next village to show my pals, I took a hairpin corner too fast and out of control, went right across the other side of the road, hit the kerb, shot over the handlebars and landed in a heap in front of a group of old ladies waiting for the "over sixties" club to open!
As I lay there in a daze all I could hear was "the youth of today............motorbikes..............death.................hooligan..............serves him right"etc. I jumped up, started my bike and drove around the next street where I stopped to mop up the blood, glue my kneecap back on and tuck what was left of my (very wide) jeans into my sock to prevent them going round the sprocket any more.
In those first few hours it was definitely much easier to change up and make it go fast(ish) than it was to change down and slow in a controlled manner!
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Yeah Beek, the phone is fine, and my injuries were not bad enough to stop people clearing a space for me on the dance floor in The Dog that evening.
I did actually take a short 20 second video of me riding my bike down the river road, but have no idea how to get it from my piephone onto Beoworld.

Nice to see you again here we were very worried last time, where you are. And somebody say that someone saw you on the roof with wireless router antenna searching for internet while your PC is rebooting

Re: Wednesdays© ..................................... are vastly overrated
My Father also used to tell me strange rhymes like...............
- One fine day in the middle of the night,
- Two dead boys* got up to fight, [*or men]
- Back to back they faced each other,
- Drew their swords and shot each other,
- One was blind and the other couldn't, see
- So they chose a dummy for a referee.
- A blind man went to see fair play,
- A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"
- A paralysed donkey passing by,
- Kicked the blind man in the eye,
- Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
- Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,
- A deaf policeman heard the noise,
- And came to arrest the two dead boys,
- If you don't believe this story’s true,
- Ask the blind man he saw it too!
Sorry about the numbers, cant get rid of them.
Another one
One freezing hot day in winter.
When the snow was raining fast.
A bare footed girl with clogs on.
Came slowly running past.
She turned a straight crooked corner,
and saw a dead donkey dying.
So she picked up a brick that she couldn't lift,
and sent the poor donkey flying.
One last one...
Yesterday upon the stairs I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today, I wish that he would go away.
