How to connect an IR eye to a BeoLink Video?

    Hi,

I have a BeoLink Video and a spare IR eye (from a BeoLink Active). Now I want to add the IR eye to control the Link output of the main room tv. I want this setup to use a non B&O tv in a link room. The link room already has a RF connection to the main room tv.

I have heared of BeoLink Videos with en IR eye but have not seen one. The datalink connector of the BeoLink Video has the ground and datalink signals but where get I +5V for the IR eye?

    greetings

You can't use a Beolink Video for that, but you can use a Beolink Active with an IR receiver in the room when the non B&O telly is. No need to connect any speaker to it.

On your main room TV you'll need to go to the hidden system menu and activate the RF modulator.

    ... 15 or 20 years to late ;-)

In the days of MCL-Systems,  you could add an IR-receiver to a X-tra Video Kit to get a X-tra Active Kit

Re: How to connect an IR eye to a BeoLink Video?

    Phil,

I prefer not to use a BeoLink Active for that purpose. I have a link room with a non B&O tv and a BeoLink Active. This room conflicts with audio usage of other link rooms at the same time. I want to get the same behavior as from a B&O tv in a link room. With the B&O tv in the bedroom I can use all main-room video sources (mono sound through RF) without interfering with the audio usage in the dinning room.

When using a BeoLink Active, it registers as an "audio device" and routes the sound over masterlink audio. In that case, the dinning room will get the tv sound.

I know that it is possible to connect a lintronic box to a BeoLink Video to receive ir commands and send the commands to masterlink. I thought it should be possible to do it with a B&O IR eye too.

You can connect your BL video to an audiosystem with audio aux link. So you can acces all video sources in the main room. Audiosystem should be in A.OPT 2.

Or you can use an ML-MCL converter and connect an MCL 2A. MCL 2A should be in L.OPT 2 or 4.
