    DVD2 Multiregion fix

    Hi all,

There is written on BeoWorld product page
    http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1241
how to make DVD2 multi region.

    My questions are:

    - Does anyone actually try that? Does it work?
    - Are there any drawbacks of that process?

Thanks for any thoughts, all the best,
    Alexander

    Re: DVD2 Multiregion fix

It worked for me, and I did not experience any drawbacks whatsoever. So far, all of our DVD's play fine on this machine.

From memory, I think I had to try different remote controls (Beo4, Beoling 1000, Beolink 7000) before I found one that did the job. I do not remember which one ultimately worked.

Good luck and perhaps you can share your experience also! Smile

    Thanks again for the advice.

I've got my preowned DVD2 yesterday.

Just a quick question: Does it work with non B&O TV?

    Thanks and best regards,
    Alexander

    Peter,

I know it can be done, but am unsure whether this can be done by the user, or whether it requires a special DVD or CD disk to do the job.

When I bought mine new in (I think) 2003 or 2004, I purchased it on the condition that it had to be region free. It was.

    Good luck, Eric

I tried this on my DVD2 but it didn't work.......

DVD1's need to follow a procedure that sometimes works first time and sometimes take for ever.........

Mind you the last time I got one of my done, next time I came to use it it was knackered!!!!! :-(

    Thanks Eric and Large48,

I think I will leave to my dealer to fix it for me...seems the safest way..

    Re: DVD2 Multiregion fix

Hope that will work for you Peter. When I asked my local dealer to fix my (then) brand new DVD2 he said they couldn't do this.

Instead, he referred me to an outside company that was prepared to do it but was going to charge 125 GBP for it...  I kindly turned down that offer, did an internet search on the methodology, and - after some experimentation with different remote controls - managed to get it to work, never had any problem since.

Best of luck and let me know if I can help in any way.

    Kind regards, Eric
