Now I really did something stupid!

    I feel embarressedEmbarrassed

Had some dust behind the glass part of my Beolink 7000.

I managed to remove the glass in order to clean the blue matrix display.

That worked! Now it's time to replace the batterie. That didn't work! Why? I connected the batterie the wrong way (+ and -).

I noticed that when the Beolink was going on and off while it has been charging for around 5 minutes on the table charger!

My first thought immediately was that I must have the batterie connected the wrong way. Made it open and my thoughts were right!

Sh......t!!!! Funny smell also, the well known smell of a burned electronic component. Results now? Beolink is still working on the charger and everything seems to work but it keeps randomly switching to more or less options going on and off on the display. I still have acces to all the menu's. It doesn't work on the batterie anymore.

Is there any chance the Beolink can be repaired (Dillen, Ulf Kiener, Menahem, Die Bogener or other electronic specialists on this board?).

Any advise from you guys would be much appreciated!

I sympathise but have not answered as I do not have the expertise to offer any advice. There is clearly at least one blown component which is stopping the battery from powering the 7000. The problem you have is that B&O have always repaired these by replacing modules, which are no longer available. Therefore you need to find someone who has the skill to deal with surface mounted components - this is not easy. I believe ridax has some skills in this department and some of the other members of the workbench may also be able to help. I would approach them personally if I were you rather than just posting on site as this work could be quite an undertaking.

    Best of luck with it.

I can also do SMD work, contact-less soldering etc. but as I haven't had that many BL7000's in
my hands, I'm afraid I cannot give much advice.
Die_Bogener, I believe, will be your best shot. Or maybe Ulf (most active in the german section).
They have made many as far as I know, and I think they both, or at least Martin (Die_Bogener),
has a far better experience with the BL7000 than I.
    I suggest you ask him.

    Thanks guys, feeling "better" now!

I should I have posted this issue to the workbench section.

Hopefully Die_Bogener wil read this post and can give me some advise.

Don't like the idea contacting members directly through email for questions.

    Sit and wait...

If your post title was something incl. Beolink 7000, I'm sure he would come and visit it but
as-is, I'm not sure it will catch his attention.
Quite surprised it caught mine, actually.

Contact him directly, he won't bite.
Or post a new thread with a different title.
