    Re: Flash your B&O!

I have just got my Beomaster 4400 back in busyness!

So... Wondering if I should do something with it and split my current systems up.

I could make a pure retro system with Beogram 4002 and Beogram 4000 with S-75's and maybe one of my Beocord 9000's, or...

I could simply replace the Beomaster 8000 in my bedroom with the 4400.

So what do you think? The 4400 or the 8000? They are both great engineering at it's finest, are they equal masters in each category? They don't have the same styling/interface, but essentially, an 8000 is a 4400 with the double amount of (darlington?) output transistors and a larger power supply.

And (not to start a discussion) what do you think is the best tangential tracking player? Most will say the 8000 series or the 4000 I think?

There will be no discussion, you have to to keep your systems together, the 4000s with the 4000s and 8000s and visa versa, there are a decade between them and they belong together, and now flash it as it should be.Laughing

And a nice colour, congratulations! Nowadays people are so used to everything portable sounding like total crap, that demonstrating an old Beolit leaves many open-jawed Smile

Just the quake. I got off lucky. My friends BV7 fell over and took out his BL2.
Beosound 1 was on it's stand and stood through 1000 earthquakes without moving.

Yeah, it can be but not by me. I donated most of my money to the victims that lost things that can't be replaced. No MBA for me this year. I still have my BS1 and one speaker and I will be looking for a single replacement in the future.

That is wonderfully generous of you.

What speaker are you looking for ?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Lee has a European set for sale at Lifestyle A/V.

Your red, not the Burgundy. I was thinking about it but the maresia down here (Brasil) is starting to take it's toll on my B&O equipment. Go for it if you want to.

I have moved my Beomaster 4400 to the secondary system as a "preamplifier" for the Beogram 4002, playing Boston's self titled recod in special US import picture disc that I found at a record store yesterday in Copenhagen.

    hmm.....not a dealer.......

the story is very funny. Sold on Ebay to a guy a Beosystem 3. After few days, he decided not to take it because his new house was prewired. He made me an offer for ALL his stock. The price was 1/3 of what actually everything worth.  This is by far the best deal I ever make on B&O.  To collect the stock, it was necessary to rent a Mercedes truck.  Also, it was a very kind guy who was happy that I will keep most of the stock for me. A very very nice person!

    all sold!
