The "RedWine" colored B&O looks sweet!

Used to love that color, but never owned any B&O in that color, don't think I could get it past SWMBO.

    Re: Flash your B&O!

The Commmander arrived a few months ago to complete my Beosystem 6000 quad.

This would have to be my favourite system of all.

The Beosystem 4500 has now moved on in its place is a complete Braun wall mounted TS45, TG60, L450 system (yet to be wall mounted I may add). Perhaps an equal to the quad in terms of being the prettiest system around.

Too bad that part of B&O's design seems to be history.

....and you have to be a bit adventurous, brave, self assured and stupid all at the same time to get involved with one of these. As the "Doctor" likes to say, No two are ever the same" and he is correct. I have 5 and all five have had factory modifications performed on the laser servo board. All done completely different from one another. the laser current voltages are hand written on the laser blocks. Again all different values.

The parts are not interchangeable without having to preform an extensive and complicated recalibration process. But in the end its biggest failing is the drawer mechanics and spindle motor.

But for all its faults it is a wonderfu and warm sounding player when working properly. Sounds like really good vinyl.

Just got the Beogram 4000 back from repair, the original SP15 cart actually plays fine for a 38 year old unit, but there is a little too much distortion, it is going to get retipped by Axel in a couple of weeks.

I even have the original test charts and the caretaking set with brush, fulcrum style weight, 45 adaptor and stylus cover

Here is my Beogram 4004 and Beomaster 4400.  They are recent acquisitions and after some repair, adjusting, tweaking, manipulating, refurbishing and praying, they are both up and running like they did 30 years ago.

Awesome Kevin! The finish of the wooden details look fabulous! Have you done that work yourself?

I have an old Beogram 2200, where the white details have gone yellow and need to be replaced. Looking at pictures like this really makes me think of starting a renovation project. Smile

The BM 4400 had a loose side panel that needed regluing, but the wood on each unit was in excellent unmarred condition.  Just a little bit of lemon oil brought the life back to the rosewood.  Thanks for the nice comments.

I didn't think anyone was showing off. I love looking at this thread and seeing people's set ups and equipment. It's great for getting (stealing) new ideas.

talking of cameras, i have the 2 nikon d3x's and a couple of d2h's's, i have an advantage seeing as i im a photo-journalist! still its always the person behind the camera, the camera just helps you achieve your aim. always remember. shutter, aperture and the rest is down to the photographer!

I think "back on track" is a bit subjective though.  I personally like the photos of B&O in their settings (e.g., in the room).  I don't care if it's a shack or a mansion, the surroundings make the photo to me.  If I wanted a big hi-res photo of a platter or a MMC2 cartridge, I can go to beocentral.  I find the photos of people's homes particularly interesting as I'm from the USA and it is great to see some of the European decor.

So....how about people post their B&O how they want, and if you feel someone is showing off or not showing the pics you like to see you can skip them!

    Re: Flash your B&O!

that maybe so, but its all to do with the pride of equipment people have, nothing better than seeing coloured vinyl being lit by the guiding light of the tracking light on a beogram while the pure lines of the tangential arm is subtly lit..... nice, its not all about the settings its about the design through out! after all its what we pay for as well as the sound and visual qualities. no ones asking you to to have hi res. just enjoy them....i do-good image or not
