    Dust Cover "Stops"?

At the front of the dust cover for my Beogram 1800 (later model), there were two tiny black plastic stops (what the service manual calls them) at either corner that acted as a sort of buffer/space filler between the plastic of the cover and the aluminum of the top plate. Mine are both gone and as a result there's room between the cover the top plate in the front. My question: Has anyone ever found a good substitute for the stops? I'm looking for something that's as close as possible to what was originally there, which from the service manual looks almost like an upside down spike, with the pointy end going up into a hole in the corner of the cover and the "head" being the part that touches the top plate.

    Have you asked B&O ?
I am almost sure that they are still available as they are used several places.
Aren't they also found under the Beolink 1000 and similar remotes ?

I may have an old dust cover somewhere with these on - I'll have a look....

What sort of condition is your cover in? Mine may be better & if so you can have the whole thing.

Given how old these covers are, I'm not sure what would seem good or bad for the age. Mine has a fair amount of hairline scratches on it, and one of the plastic tabs on the inside near the hinges is broken, but otherwise it's functional and looks ok.

Hmmm... I was wondering the same thing... they sure seem to be very similar! Surely, they would be worth a try and are probably available for order from a dealer.

There's a B&O dealer not too far from where I live. I'll call and see if they have these things. My only concern is being able to explain what it is I'm talking about. . . . Stay tuned.

No luck. Dealer said they don't sell parts to anything. I also saw on the B&O site where it says they don't sell "spare parts" to consumers; you have to get the item in question serviced.

    Re: Dust Cover "Stops"?

Surely, if they are the same as the feet on a Beolink 1000, they are still available from dealers!

    Poor me, never win owt!

So like I said. . . the dealer told me, no, they don't have them, because they don't sell any parts. Maybe the policy is different in other countries, but I was told that I'd have to bring the turntable in and have their service tech "fix" it in order to get the parts. Or I suppose I could just buy a new Beolink 1000, but that doesn't seem very cost effective. Wink

    Re: Dust Cover "Stops"?

The new feet for the Beolink 1000 has tiny inside pulling "stabs" so I don't think they are the same, at least not any longer.
The rubber stops part number is 3010007 and they are widely used in turntables (1800/4002 etc.).
I suggest you phone another dealer. I will ask mine too.

Thanks, Martin. I'll try a few other dealers and see if they're more helpful than the first.

Martin and Jandyt were right: I got a helpful salesperson at the B&O store in NYC and he ordered the stops today. I'll have them Friday. Thanks for the prodding to pursue the store route. And Martin, a special thanks for tracking down the part number.

    Re: Dust Cover "Stops"?

    Hi,

I'm interested too. Are these the same on the Beogram 8000 cover? CDX/CDX2/CD-3300 CD players?

    Thanks,

    Jacques

They are not separately listed in my manuals but I think they are the same.

    Re: Dust Cover "Stops"?

    Hello,

I finally got the rubber stops from a nice dealer, 1.25 € each, but if they obviously fit perfectly on my BG turntables, the ones on the CDX and CD-3300 are different (the holes are much bigger) so they have to be glued in place...

Does anyone have the actual references for the CD player ones?

    Thanks

    Jacques
