    Re: First BeoVision 10 review

I have a BV10 with the digital tuner. I have no problems with it but confess to mainly using SkyHD as i get more channels and I can record. I do note that my V8000 no longer works as expected but I have not used that seriously for some time. For those without Sky+ or similar, I can understand some frustration.

    Re: First BeoVision 10 review

    Hi Ehlerz,

    thanks for the congratulations.

As I wrote before, I do use masterlink with my BL 3500 and except the little sound-delay it works fine for me. And I do have a surround set-up with 4 BL 6000's and everything works fine. And I do have HD TV (IPTV through VDSL) which works perfectly.

I understand completely your frustration about the faults with the DVB HD module. Am I right,it is terrestrial or not? I'm sure, that I would feel the same. Here in Germany the module costs € 540.-. You are right, a customer can expect that a simple DVB module (like integrated in almost every € 500.- TV set) should work perfect. Why don't you turn it in and tell your dealer to bring it back to you whenever it works like it is supposed to work?

One of the main reasons for my decision (exept performance and design) was the unbeatable quality of the B&O products I already owned. No faults, no problems, they work for 10 years now and I hope that it willl go on like that with my BV 10.

Beeing glad not having the DVB HD module

What are the other BV10 owners' experiences? There must be more than a few in here by now.

Or is BeoVision 10 still not available in most contries?

Not available in the US for another 2 or 3 months. I've been eagerly awaiting this TV for a year. Be sure that when it comes I'll pipe in with a detailed report!

    Raeuber:

I agree totally with Ehlerz and HeKoch: The DVB-Module is full of bugs! Also timer-recordings with the module are not possible with my DVD2.

But also the BV10 has software-bugs, p.e. if you try to make direct records by using the RECORD-key on Beo4. Since more than three weeks I am in contact with BEOCARE, but no solution. Only answers like "We are pleased you are owner of our new BV10...".

It´s not acceptable to buy a very expensive high-end-product and then feeling like a beta-tester!

    Regards

    Räuber

I am big Bang & Olufson fan, and I am eagerly waiting for the BV10 - 46 inch. However I sincerely hope, that DVB module bugs are resolved by the time the BV10-46" hits the store.

If there are any people from B&O companie reading these threads, please take note.

    Regards

That's a long time. Because of production shortage or what? We're looking forward to your views on the set.

It seems that B&O are pushing the BV10-46 launch because of the bad financials they released and the current succes of BV10-40. We might expect it to hit shops some weeks ahead of schedule B&O said.

    Re: First BeoVision 10 review

That means sometime Feb./Mar., I can hardly wait.

I sincerely hope this hasty introduction will not be at cost of the quality. Earlier posts/threads indicated some BV10 owners experienced problems with the DVB-HD module and panel backlighting. Actually I am wondering how these cases have been handled/resolved by B&O. Nevertheless it will not stop me from getting a BV10-46", it will however make sure I discuss replacement policy of B&O with my dealer in case of any default.

Bottom line is I demand when I buy B&O I don't have to expect or deal with any of the above.

I fear that by going up to 46 inches backlighting issues from the Edge LED backlight might be more prominent. But I have my faith in B&O, though. They are probably buying the premium panels from Samsung so backlight bleeding should be minimized.

    Hi,

I haven't had any notable problems with the DVB-HD module: okay, startup is somewhat slow, but that does not bother me - I'm usually not in a hurry when I watch TV :).

As for the backlight problems discussed in the other thread that I started, I will definitely keep you posted on how B&O will handle the case. So far no word from B&O Customer Service, and I've been too busy to pay my dealer a visit yet.
