Beolab 9 with Beovision 5, compatible or not?

The BV5 does not have the BL9 in its menu of compatible speakers, probably due to its age?

Is there an upgrade to the BV5 to allow the use of BL9 or should BL9 be used with BL1 or BL5 selected from the menu?

    Many thanks.

I would select Beolab 5. There probably is an upgrade though I doubt it will add anything important.

So, not a big deal, enjoyment wise?

I was considering buying BL5s to keep the configuration tidy but if I'm not losing anything with the menu mismatch I'll probably stick.

Re: Beolab 9 with Beovision 5, compatible or not?

I had a couple of BL3's connected to my Avant as BL8000's, and they played wonderfully, so it shouldn't be a problem.

My BV5 don't have BL5, I have it set to Beolab Penta. Works great.

I'd probably go ahead and get the BeoLab 5s just to be on the safe side

There isn't an upgrade to have BeoLab 9's in the menu, but the B&O recommendation is use the setting for BeoLab 1 because the BeoLab 9 is based on the BeoLab 1 chassis.

Which software does your sound module (and chassis) have?

Even the avant 32 RF DVD (8450 type mkII) had the "BL 5" option.

    Please don't tempt me.

I'd look a bit sad sitting on the pavement watching my blank BV9 and listening to my silent BL5s having lost the house to the bank.

I would strongly recommend a home demo before you buy.

When I connected my BL3s direct to my BV8 rather then to my BC2 I noticed a huge difference in sound when playing CDs. in fact I am not using my BL3s anymore for watching TV.

Giving the amount of money you are about to drop, I ask the dealer about it.

So is it worth connecting my BL9s direct to my BS9000 for improved CD performanceConfused
