After a short coffee break, we were then given a presentation of the Automotive and the Advanced Sound System by Tommy Boye Rasmussen. An Audi A8 had been strategicaly placed just outside the entrance to the farm, we took turns sitting in it for a demo. I had already been in one so didn't bother this time as it was quite time consuming. (Three people at a time)

Dear, Andy T the photos are amazing, thank you very very much!  I’m sorry if it was asked before, but what are the requirements for such a trip, is it available for everyone or only some very loyal customers? What was the price including hotel accommodations and every thing else, thank you.

The only requirement at the time was to put one's name down ! The Struer Tourist Board do arrange Factory Visits though this one was obviously rather special. Whether B&O would arrange another one is not known.

At about quarter to five, we were taken back to our hotel where we had an hour before we were to be picked up again.
Bang and Olufsen had kindly arranged to take us out for a meal.
The restaurant they had chosen was on the same, four mile long island that Frede lives on. It was called Venø Kro.
What a great choice! This is us arriving there.

    Poor me, never win owt!

We were made very welcome by the lady who owns it with her husband and we all took our places on a huge table up against the sea facing window.

No expense had been spared with this meal!
There were a multitude of different sauces for different dishes and our hostess gave us details of the ingredients in each.
Every time I put my wine glass back on the table, a waiter was there topping it up!
This is Thea in the foreground on the right opposite Lee.
Thea is an anthropologist who was compiling a study of us for Bang and Olufsen. They want to know what makes us tick!
If you get time, go to the Lifestyle forum and find a thread titled "Why B&O?" You can then help Thea with her study of Beoworlders.
Fourth down on the left is a lady from B&O, I think she is called Tinne.
Great meal, great company, great venue but the piece de resistance was yet to come!

    Thanks for that, David.

Well half way through our meal a lady from B&O attracted our attention at the end of the table.
I have no idea what her name is so if you do, please let me know.
She had in her hands a silver coloured box and we all knew what was in it before she told us. We all applauded!
    Beo5Big SmileYes
Before she opened the box she asked if we would promise not to take pictures of it and, as we were trustworthy Beoworlders, none of us did.
Bang and Olufsen knew that we knew it existed and many of us had asked about it all day long but kept coming up against a brick wall.
I think it is a tribute to Beoworld that B&O privledged us with this unscheduled unveiling.
I have a strong feeling that this was the only one made as it was flying out to Dubai tomorrow!
The Beo5 was passed around the table for each guest to play with, I was the fourth member of the public to hold one of these! (Eat your heart out, His Majesty King Mohamed VI  of Morrocco!

Here's a challenge for your pronunciation skills, Andy: Rie Kold Pripsøe is the name you are hunting for.

Cheers mate. In that case, she was already in the agenda to accompany us to Venø Kro and therfore, makes me wonder whether B&O had planned on showing us Beo5 all the timeConfused
Although none of us took a picture of Beo5, the image was accidently posted on the media center so this photo' is not mine.

We were allowed to take pictures of the box, and on the photo you see me taking the photo that ended up as my avatar.

Re: My trip to Struer. By Andy T. Photo's by Andy T.

After we had finished eating and the Beo5 had been passed around numerous times, one of our members pointed out the aging B&O sound system (can't remember which model)  that was in use in the restaurant. We were pleased to note that the Beo5 controlled it as if they were contemporaries!
After our meal, the bus took us back to the hotel and some of us had a quiet drink in the bar but retired sensibly around midnight.

EDIT - It was a Beocenter 8500 at least 15 years old. Thanks DanielBig Smile

    Day Four, May 1st 2007

After last nights exitement with the revealing of Beo5, today was a bit of an anti-climax.
However, we all had to get up early as the 'bus was picking us up at 8.00 sharp.
Lee dashed off to see if he could find some flowers to thank Gitte for all her hard work, but on being unable to locate any decent ones managed to come back with a lovely bottle of champers. We all signed our names on it for presenting later.
Kevin  is seen here holding the bottle as it is signed by Edina under the watchful eyes of Stefan and Christian or is it Fridsten?
