    Beogram 6500 lid gap

I was wondering if this is normal (see pic below). There is a gap between the lid and the rear of the beogram. I find it rather annoying as it lets all the dust through into the inside of the beogram, is it supposed to be like that or is something missing?

    Thanks

Same as my 6500 and 7000... about the width of one rib on the rear cover. Funny that the gap is there, but seems to be by design.

Although I find the sag that develops if any stuff is kept on the lid far more annoying!

Thanks! Mine has a very slight sag too, I guess the previous owners used to put things on top. Anyone who is found to be putting anything on top of the beogram (piece of paper included) will be in trouble!!!!

Actually I think the sag might develop all by itself. It takes very little force to bend the lid back into shape - I believe a strip of L shaped thin sheet metal sandwiched between the lid and hinges would keep it straight, with nothing visible on the outside. Or just a bar of stiff plastic glued on the underside.

Edit: after closer inspection, maybe not: the lid seems to go very near the arm when down!
