I seem to remember we had this in the old forum but does anyone have a current colour for B&O white. I seem to remember it was a BMW match or was that the silver?

Also has anyone a picture of a white RL speaker.

Only pic I can find - the white looks pretty white to me!

 

The white BeoSound 1 is "painted" with something that must be very close to NCS 0500 - I am sure someone can confirm the paint code for the BeoSound 1...

 The beamer colors could be found on e.g. the Avant - so no white's from Munich as far as I know.

@Puncher thanks for the picture. A little dissapointed to be honest (not with the picture). I was hoping the cloth would be white as well, or at least a light grey/silver. And black straps!

They were available with light grey cloth but in 20 years of using, looking and latterly dealing in B&O I've never seen a pair.

Surely they will have been in the catalogue of the day - catalogues from 1992-96 anyone ???

I have spotted two pictures of RLs in white with light grey cloth on page 50 of the brochure from the mid 90s. The white brochure with the square hole cut out of the front cover (No date on it)
Unfortunately, I don't know how to make my photo's small enough to add to a post.

Thinking about it I'd be amazed if it were different to the white of BS5500 etc.

An easy way to do this is to email them tp yourself using the optimised (compressed) selection.

@ Kevin, I'm not sure of the exact white but will it really matter when they are on the wall or is that a daft thing to say to an enthusiast? The BMW colour was indeed the silver as used on the Avant.

Are you thinking of clothing yours in white Kevin?

I only ask as the cloth has to be stuck to the entire face of the cabinet fronts to obtain the raised lettering effect & the adhesive may bleed through & stain white speaker cloth - just something to bear in mind. When I recloth speakers I use evostick contact adhesive applying it to the cabinets or plastic frets only and it works very well as it sticks almost instantly.

Yes some kind of contact adhesive was the plan possibly the stuff used for photo mounting since it sprays well and is transparent.

Hi Kevin,

i remember something about RAL-colour-codes that are often used by architects and so on,
regarding B&O and colours, yes, B&O does use several of the colours that BMW also uses.
Not sure which ones, but pretty sure about the metallic red-tones.

I do have an original BMW colour-chart with the specific codes and designations,
which i could send to you. 

Lee has used several specific colours to individualise f.e. Avant,
i guess he could give you some pointers
