    Beovision 7 - 55"

Will the Beovision 7 be launched in the US first?  Since europe is all worked up over the Beovision 10-40 launch and that product may not come here until the spring of next year according to a thread in the North American forum.   Maybe it would get more notice here?  It seems everyones lounge in europe is too small for the 7-55 anyway?

I am curious to see the Beolab 7-6.  It should be like a mile long. Smile

Yes, confirmed: at the end of november. About 14.000,00 € (Spain) with BD Player, BL7-6 and remote (beo4). There are two typoes of motorised stands, one low, only for BL7-6 and one high, to use with BL7-4. There is a close wall bracket (not motorised) as well Yes - thumbs up

    Peter :
Should be excellent with a new type of screen....

A new 100Hz retroLED screen Wink

    Re: Beovision 7 - 55"

"RetroLED" means slim "à la BV10" or classic size like BV7/BV6 ?

BV10 is edge lit, the LEDs are on the edges, RetroLED means the LEDs are on the back of the screen. It is thicker, but can be brighter and more homogeneous.

BV7/BV6 are currently lit by the back of the screen but by a fluorescent panel, not by LEDs.

Classic size, steph... That only means that the LEDs are on the back and not on the edges of the screen (thanks Phil Yes - thumbs up )

The big advantage will be different areas of the screen can have different back lighting. This allows for deeper blacks and better contrast. The edge LED system does not allow this but both methods review well and seem an improvement over the fluorescent tubes seen in most LCD sets.

    Re: Beovision 7 - 55"

"Earlier that expected".  Just remember that we 'expected' the BeoTime in mid-August.  ;-)

More to the point,  would think mid-November to early December.  The real issue is that individual stores may not be able to display it untill they sell their BeoVision 9's.  And if anyone wonders about that....

    We kid because we love.

Your saying the BV9 is being phased out by the BV7-55?

Does anyone know the dimensions of this BV 7-55? I've red 1m55 for  the beolab 7.6, which seems huge. Any idea about he screen width?

Do you also know if the blu-ray DVD player will be an option and this TV set will be proposed as a monitor?

    Thanks, Marc.

Well, Mr. Pythagoras taught us that the active screen width of a 55" 16:9 screen will be 48" or 122 cm, so you can add your own estimate of the frame width...

The speaker is so big it has its own ecosystem!

I saw it today (sorry, couldn't take pics), but i can assure you that if you get a picture of a BV7-40 and zoom in, you're there.

Goodness knows how much the contrast screen would cost to replace (the AR coating damages very easily on the BV7..)

Didn't see it in action as we had to leave - but i'm assured the image is amazing.

    Lee,

Were photographs forbidden at the London BV10 etc launch? Were these electricpig pictures of the BV10 taken without permission???

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure. [W C Fields]

No, but the rest of the journalists were ushered out of the building before they wheeled in the 7-55. The official launch will be in the US and they did not want to spoil the surprise - The Blu-ray drive is the same as the 7-40 - Samsung. We have pictures of the 10-40 - no doubt Lee is busy posting them!

Not yet. For now there are three options: 2 Floor Stands, low (to use with BL7-6, 112 cm / 44" tall) and high (to use with BL7-6 &/or BL7-4, 144 cm / 57" tall), and fixed wall bracket.
