Peter :
I understand the 7-55 will be launched in the EU next month.
Yes, confirmed: at the end of november. About 14.000,00 € (Spain) with BD Player, BL7-6 and remote (beo4). There are two typoes of motorised stands, one low, only for BL7-6 and one high, to use with BL7-4. There is a close wall bracket (not motorised) as well
Peter : Should be excellent with a new type of screen....
A new 100Hz retroLED screen

steph:"RetroLED" means slim "à la BV10" or classic size like BV7/BV6 ?
BV10 is edge lit, the LEDs are on the edges, RetroLED means the LEDs are on the back of the screen. It is thicker, but can be brighter and more homogeneous.
BV7/BV6 are currently lit by the back of the screen but by a fluorescent panel, not by LEDs.

Classic size, steph... That only means that the LEDs are on the back and not on the edges of the screen (thanks Phil )

"Earlier that expected". Just remember that we 'expected' the BeoTime in mid-August. ;-)
More to the point, would think mid-November to early December. The real issue is that individual stores may not be able to display it untill they sell their BeoVision 9's. And if anyone wonders about that....

Does anyone know the dimensions of this BV 7-55? I've red 1m55 for the beolab 7.6, which seems huge. Any idea about he screen width?
Do you also know if the blu-ray DVD player will be an option and this TV set will be proposed as a monitor?
Thanks, Marc.

Well, Mr. Pythagoras taught us that the active screen width of a 55" 16:9 screen will be 48" or 122 cm, so you can add your own estimate of the frame width...

The speaker is so big it has its own ecosystem!
I saw it today (sorry, couldn't take pics), but i can assure you that if you get a picture of a BV7-40 and zoom in, you're there.
Goodness knows how much the contrast screen would cost to replace (the AR coating damages very easily on the BV7..)
Didn't see it in action as we had to leave - but i'm assured the image is amazing.

Lee,
Were photographs forbidden at the London BV10 etc launch? Were these electricpig pictures of the BV10 taken without permission???
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure. [W C Fields]

LifeStyle:
xegoon, will there be no original B&O motorised wall bracket for the 7-55 as there is one for the 7-40? I hardly can believe this....
Not yet. For now there are three options: 2 Floor Stands, low (to use with BL7-6, 112 cm / 44" tall) and high (to use with BL7-6 &/or BL7-4, 144 cm / 57" tall), and fixed wall bracket.
