Mika, I use "C", Cable from Welho. However in the future satellite or air transmissions are a likely source for me...

When it comes to satellite, you're off to get a separate STB anyway... in cable, I suppose this DVB-HD module should work just fine. I just read the user manual Peter has put on site and it seems to have a built-in CONAX module, so that will be fine for both T and C pay-tv in Finland as well.

What still remains open is the DVB-T2 capability. I don't think it is there, as it is not mentioned anywhere, and that would put B&O at the forefront of technology since nobody else has it either Stick out tongue From current knowledge, two terrestrial HD licences have been admitted in Finland (both to DNA) and the requirements specifically mandate that DVB-T2 should be used. Don't expect any regular transmissions in at least a year, though.

The B&O line on this is that DVB-T2 chip sets are not yet available but once they are, B&O will be making them available.

They are in the same boat with every other manufacturer. This issue has been seen so many times with every tv/radio digitalization step, who's gonna market receivers if there are no transmissions, and vice versa...

I'm confident they can bring the receiver module out. Just a heads up to the consumer - most likely you will not be able to receive terrestrial HD broadcasts with any current receiver without hardware updates. B&O is pretty clever keeping the receiver modular! With most other manufacturers, it'll be get a new telly or a new STB...

The DVB HD tuner of that TV is DVB-T and DVB-C...

Regardless of what it is, it does not work!!

Having read the complete user guide, I can't help thinking that David Lewis never uses headphones: have you seen where it is located? On the socket panel at the back bottom of the TV set!! Same as on BeoSound 1..Sad

The video with the acoustic engineer tells us that an analog 30W amp is used for the 4" "subwoofer", and that 5 W ICE amps are used for the midrange-tweeter units.

An interesting combination! Analogue is usually used for the tweeter and ICE for the bass! Seems a bit odd.

On the positive note, the user guide confirms the TV is fitted with both USB and Ethernet connections, let's hope in the near future we can use the Ethernet input for Masterlink and the USB input to plug in any hard-drive/USB storage device and play our video files with a simple on-screen interface, instead of using the clumsy, limited & expensive (my personal opinion!) BeoMaster 5 solution.

    Reunion Island is greeting you!
