MX-4002 and passive speaker via MCL 2P

Just bought an old MCL 2P to be used with MX-4002 in my garage.. MCL 2P connected to MX-4002 via powerlink.. Turned on PL-socket in menu.. but no sound Unsure

MCL 2P has a red light - will this change to another color when in use? Could it be my cable? only connected 1 cable to socket 1 (think it is a standard power link cable from my BL 4000)

Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Thanks..

    Hello Gordon,

you don´t need the MCL 2P - the MX 4002 - as well as the MX 4000 - has two speaker sockets for passive speakers on the backside! So you can directly connect your passive speakers!

    regards, Adrian

try switching tv off then on - the 2p light should change to green and the speakers boot up!

    good luck

    hmm.. don't know..

    Tried 2 cables so far:

    8 pins - nothing works

5 pins (aux cable) - makes light go green on MCL 2P when TV turned on, but gives no sound..

What kind of powerlink cable should I buy?

Had the same problem (MCL 2P would not turn on). This cable solved my problem.

If I'm not mistaken you can choose to go for speaker 1,2,3 which means you can choose which sourse of speakers you want to listen to.

I alreade have one MX4002 my self but only use a pair of passive on to listen to.

I doubt if I would be using an MCL2P on it. From my point of view it just doesn't make any sence.

    Best regards

If have a set of beovox 3000 connected to my mx4000 (testing this setup) - no sound from the tv, just the speakers.

    No mcl2p needed...

How did you manage that...? From what I know looking at the schematics (and in practice with my MX6000), there are no switches or switching between the external and internal speakers. They are connected directly in parallel. A headphone plugged in would mute them both, though.

Do your internal speakers work at all if you unplug the 3000's?

Picked up a PowerLink Mk2 cable from Beostore today.. no success Sad

Powers up nice (green light turns on) but no sound.. How can I tell if the line output is damaged/not working? is there a circuit somewhere?

I was wrong, sound from the center (TV) as well. This changes only with Powerlink in use (now I upgraded to Beolab 4500). Getting closer to the final setup...BC 9300, BL4500, Beovision MX4000...just waiting for a long Aux Cable from Steve.
