New Software released for BV7-40 Mark III/IV and BS3
Hi,
I talked to my dealer today. New software 7.02 is released for BV7-40 mark III/IV and BS3. It replaces the "old" 6.11.
It would be interesting to know what changes is done with the new software.
Regards
Martin

It better be something special to earn a whole "7" in the title.

Can you tell me what the other improvements are.
Sure
On-screen menus are changed (also black menus)
Sleep timer function.
You can add additional HDMI sources connecting an HDMI Expander to the HDMI B socket.
Speaker mode 1 can be selected as standard setup in Video mode even if front and rear speakers are in the setup.
If used with RS4 software or higher on DVB-HD, then MHEG is possible in UK.

But these were all present in the v6.xx sw update? My BV7-40 MKIV has these features and it has sw 6.03.

I was talking about new SW for the BV8-40, not for the 7-40

Ah, I was just following the title of the thread - assumed you meant the new sw 7.x features for the BS3.

I was just told today, that an update to my BV7-40 MKIV will come in week 47, will fix many bugs, i.e. humming noise when watching BR or music from my BM5 (connected with s/pdif).

There is something about B&O.....

Re: New Software released for BV7-40 Mark III/IV and BS3
New SW 7.05 (Build 551) valid for Beosystem 3 based TVs has been released today. It fixes this:
1. No menu, no overlay menu, no curtains (Build 548). 2. Menus and OSD disappeared (Build 548). 3. BeoSystem 3 freezes when receiving DTV+CINEMA_OFF from standby (Build 548). 4. TV does not go into standby, and standby diode is blinking (slow flash) (Build 548). 5. Intermittently the television switches off (Build 548). 6. ACM crashes when source is YPbPr in High-Definition (was solved in Build 533) (Build 548). 7. No volume bar after using EPG in DVB-HD (Build 548). 8. Panel info says 50 Hz and not 100 Hz (Build 548). 9. No link control of DTV source (STB), if main room television is in standby (was solved in Build 533). 10. Lip-sync on Blu-ray does not match. 11. Timer on DTV-RADIO. Turn on to last shown TV (DTV) channel when link TV is connected. 12. Non B&O screen: Screen switches on when switching off from audio mode. 13. Not correct channel is showed when Play timer from another favourites list is programmed. 14. Difference in sound level between DVB picture and DVB Full-text. 15. Different issues with opening and closing curtains (half open-half closed). 16. Mixed sound from Radio and DVD in link room. 17. Stand does not always turn to stored positions.

Re: New Software released for BV7-40 Mark III/IV and BS3
I hear 7.1.1 is now out. Does anyone have the fix list for this by any chance? My TV is coming back from an upgrade to Blu-Ray today which is all very exciting and will hopefully have been updated to the latest rev. Outstanding service from the guys in Reading as ever - they loaned me a 7-40 replacement whilst mine went away and couldn't have been more helpful.
Anyone else done the Blu-Ray upgrade yet. How was your experience?
Mark.

0.7.1.1 is the lastest version of the Service Tool Mk2, but the lastest SW for the BV7-40 Mk3/Mk4 is the 7.05 (build 551). Maybe you have missunderstood it.

These sw updates don't fix my major 'HDCP crashing issues' I've experienced since I bought the BV7-40 MKIV. It's a known problem, too. Glad to see they are giving it top priority

Recently had my BS3/BV4 updated to 7.05, and the engineer suggested that the current thinking was that the HDCP crashing issues may be related to the new programme guide on Sky HD!
Certainly the timescale would seem to fit in with my recollection of when the intermittent crashing developed on my set up.
The television promptly crashed of course immediately after the update so I can confirm the current software fixes nothing on this issue; though fingers crossed as all fine this week!

You could be right....as my crashing started around May, just when the new Sky HD guide was introduced!
But, why does it only affect the BV7 and not the BV8? Indeed, I can still carry on using the Sky box, with the BV8, once the BV7 has crashed!
My crashing is up-and-down. I can have two weeks with no crashing whatsoever, then suddenly it crashes - without warning - every 15 minutes, constantly, for a day or two. Then it doesn't do it for days again....! Argh :(

Yes, a couple of weeks without a hitch and then...a couple of crashes. But what is bizarre, and just has to be coincidence, is that it has always happened when I have been on Ch5 - mostly Flash Forward!

Hi Shaun
Well, I think your dealer has to talk with his technicians. In our store, I do the updates for our customers. I think every store has to have someone to do it.

You are right. With the USB Key you can only update the DVB-HD. You need a laptop and a special cable to update the TV.
