    CD Lens Cleaners

On page 4 of the Beosound 1 User Manual, under Maintenance they state: "We do not recommend using special cleaning CD's in the Beosound 1".

Anyone know why?  I've used them to great success in the past and am therefore curious.

    Re: CD Lens Cleaners

I think they are just covering themselves in case of claims under warranty. A lens cleaner usually involves a brush cleaning the lens, something which can go wrong with such a delicate mechanism as a laser lens. If they have advised against it, then if you decide to use one and it damages something they can turn around and say "we told you so"!

Do you mean cleaning works well with all lens cleaning products on the market and with all CD mechanisms, or are you just summarising your own experiences?

    The two are very different.

    It's my own experience.

I own a beosound9000 and after brush cleaning everything works fine again.

    I've done that 3 years ago.Smile

    Re: CD Lens Cleaners

    I had a problem with my BS9000.

i've changed the laser mechanism 1 years before.

Sometimes when i put a cd it's pin very very fast in the wrong direction Confused

may be to remove the dust from the lens with the wind ?

I use a cd with brush and now all is OK.
