Mac mini no sound on BV5

So have finally got my new mac mini properly connected (image wise) to my BV5, needed a VGA to Video adaptor full of electronics instead of a simple one.

I can't get any sound from the TV, I have the mini connected to the BV5 optical digital cable -> converter -> digital coaxial cable and into the second connector behind the TV, in the first one I have my DVD player connected and it works great.

Is it that I have the mini's digital output wrong in some way? Or should I just give up, and connect it via RCA cables? The first option is the preferred one of-course.

Had the same issue a month ago with my BV7-40.

The digital to coax adapter sould work and deliver full 5.1 but you have to care that:

    - You have the latest TV firmware installed (gives some extra features as well)

    - Don't choose "PC" as a source (this worked for me), take DVD2 instead

    - Choose digital output in "Sound" and "DVD Player" settings on your Mini

    Hope that helps.
