    Beosystem 5500

Hi, I ran into a Beosystem 5500 at a local pawn shop earlier today and it seems kiiiiiiind of pricey to me.  It came to $600 total, although each component was priced individually (150 for the beogram, 210 for the beomaster, etc).  Also, the beogram was missing it's mmc4.  Is $600 even kind of fair for this? Thanks for your input!

Depends on the condition and what you get. If it includes a CD5500 and MCP5500 along with the Beomaster and Beogram LP. I would say it was a bargain if it works! Shame the cartridge is missing but you would need a new one probably anyway.

    Re: Beosystem 5500

I have just looked at dba.dk which is a Danish site with all kinds of ads and auctions.

Most of the Beosystem 5500 cost more than 600$ when all 4 units are present.

So if its any help 600$ is kind of fair since its missing the mmc4 and speakers.

What about remote? Does it come with the MCP5500 og a Beolink 1000?

It does include the cdplayer, tape deck, and controller.  It seemed to be in good cosmetic shape, although i suspect that one of the hinges on the controller may have been repaired/glued.  So knowing this, how good of a price do you think 600 is?

Oh ya, it's the MCP5500 not the beolink

Looks fair to me - it looks like you have the CD50 cd player which is not as desirable as the CD5500 and is difficult to fix if it breaks. However $600 seems a fair price.

Actually, it does have the CD5500 and not the CD50.  Thanks for all the replies everyone, I appreciate the help.

in your shoes, I would have bought it :)

    I hope you enjoy it

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*
