2 B&O system setup in one room?

Seems like noone can help me on the german forum, so I'll try it here...

I plan to upgrade my B&O stuff in my living room and add a Beocenter 2 to my existing stuff (BS9000 masterlinked to a BV7-40 with full 5.1 setup)

Is it possible to operate all 3 systems in one room with a Beo 4 / 5 (both present).

Removing the BS9000 is not an option, as I simply love it :-)

I just cannot figure out how to option set the machines so they all can be remote controlled in one room ??? Sad

    Thx for you replies

I suggest you download and install the PCG (Product Configuration Guide) from here: http://www.beoworld.org/manuals_view.asp?pid=1273

It is a PC software you tell it when you have and it tells you how to connect and configure it!

Strange piece of software... it seems it doesn't accept 2 audio systems in the same room ????

Question, has you BV7-40 got a DVD player, or a Bluray player, or no player at all?

Note that in the software, you do not add the DVD2 as an audio product, but as a DVD player, after you've added the TV.

I got this result, but you need to refine this as I did not know which version of BV you've got:

    ************************* VIDEO SYSTEM SETUP **************************

    BeoVision 7 - 40"MKIII TV
    DVD 2 (VR 1)

    Connection Video

Please note: BeoLab 7-2 must be connected to "Power Link Centre"
    (not "Cinema Centre"!).

    Display 1-2 (DVI-D out).
    Connector for screen or projector.
A screen is connected to Display 1 and projector must be connected to Display 2.

HDMI-IN (A-D) (High Definition Multimedia Interface).
The HDMI sockets can be connected to any HDMI video source or PC.
    Please note:
You can view 2 HDMI sources at the same time.

    IR IN.
Connect the receiver cable to the IR-socket and plug it into the
6-pin terminal block of the IR-eye.
    IR1+2.
The socket is used to check the IR-signal to the projector.

    AV1 - AV6.
AV1 is used for AV connection of equipment such as a DVD recorder, VCR, HDR or
set-top box. (V MEM). 2-way communication from TV to product connected. AVL.

AV2 is used for AV connection of additional equipment such as a
    digital satellite receiver (DTV).
1-way communication from TV to the product connected. AVL.

AV3 is used for AV connection of additional equipment such as a DVD player.
1-way communication from TV to the product connected. AVL.

AV4 is used for AV connection of additional equipment. 1-way communication
from TV to the product connected. AVL.

AV5 is used for AV connection of additional equipment such as BeoMedia or a PC.

AV6 is used for AV connection of additional equipment such as a camera.

Connect the aerial to the aerial input of the VR 1.
Connect the aerial output of the VR 1 to the aerial input of the
    TV-set using a coaxial cable.

    Speaker.
Connecting speakers is made in the Power Link sockets.

Speakers is connected to the Power Link sockets as single or
pair. If pair a Power Link splitter is required.

In TV the centre speaker is connected to the (centre) socket.
If extra centre speaker is to be connected, a Power Link splitter is required.

    Selecting option on the TV-set

    Option programming with Beo5:
Option programming is made with the Beo5 Configuration Tool.

It is not possible to connect an extra plasma screen to the TV.

UHF range, adjust the modulator frequency by means of the screw
on the rear panel of the VTR.

I realised when reading the setup instruction from the PCG that it does not tell you how to configure the BC2.

I have seen a few thread in the past on how to get both working in the same room, but although a few people said it can be done, nobody has said how.

I wouldn't buy it until I am sure it can be done.

I'd ask my dealer - after all, if he wants your money, he can investigate - and I would insist to see it working in the shop, before signing a big cheque.

My guess is that you could set it as Option 0 (the BC2), and not connect it on the Masterlink, it would work as a DVD player only.

Make that two then, cos I have one also.

Phil, will let you know tomorrow.  I'm just wiring the same configuration.  I'm phoning the dealer for advice.  You won't be able to use the DAB/CD functions on the BC2 though.  It's an expensive option for a DVD player, but the look is fantastic.

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars.
    The rest I just squandered.

Re: 2 B&O system setup in one room?

I have that setup. Few points:

    - There is a software upgrade for the BS9000 available that you can use BC2 and BS9000 in the same room. I think that update lets the BS9000 be setup as a "link" product.

    - I don't have that update but switched the BS9000 to option 0 so that it doesn't react to the remote. I connected it to the line in of the BC2. TO play single CDs I use the BC, if I want the random play or want to play multiple in a row I use the BS9000.

I noticed that besides volume I rarely use the remote when listening to music .....

    Cheers

    JK

P.s. The software was discontinued by B&O I believe so it's not up to date anymore

P.P.s 2 Audio Master in the same room are generally not possible in the B&O world. BS9000 and BC2 seem to be an exception

Re: 2 B&O system setup in one room?

Thought that people laugh at the plan to put another system in the same room but hey, looks like some B&O fanatics lurk around here that understand my intention :-)

Its just because of the looks and the ability to push a button and watch the thing change shape ... pure p0rn :-)

Just wonder how the BS9000 can be software upgraded, must be by hardware upgrade, I'll ask my dealer about it.

Thanks for all the answers and the discussion, I just praise the day I found beoworld :-p

    >>must be by hardware upgrade<<

That is correct. It has the software on a chip, which has to be exchanged. He may not know about this, if he doesn't contact B&O customer service.

I wonder if you can still have all speakers connected to the TV when the BS900 is used as a LINK product...
