Re: 32 AVANT SLOW TO RESPOND

Hello Matt and a very warm welcome to Beoworld.

There can be many reasons for the type of problem you have described.

Firstly, is your AVANT connected to any other products via the Masterlink ? If the answer is Yes, then my first suggested step is to power down the AVANT at the mains plug and remove the Masterlink cable, then power up the AVANT again and review the situation.

How often does this problem occur ?

Let us know what the results of the above questions are...

    Regards Keith....

    Matt,

What is the exact configuration of your masterlink ? Is the wiring daisy chained from product to product ? if so what is the order of the from the master AVANT ?

I will repeat myself, how often does the problem occur, is it:-

    1. All the time when all products are connected to the masterlink.
    2. Intermittently when all products are connected to the masterlink

Re: 32 AVANT SLOW TO RESPOND

the avant was the first part of my system linked to 1 the 3200 in lounge then to 2 2500 speakers in  the kitchen then to the 28 avant in the bedroom yes they are daisey chained and it has mostly had this fault but not always by that i mean it is sometimes ok i have replaced the 32 with a beovision 5 and would like to use the 32 in the bedroom

i have removed the masterlink and the tv responds ok but once replaced it reverts back to slow channel changes since moved to the bedroom have reconfigured to video opt 6 via the beo4

Re: 32 AVANT SLOW TO RESPOND

    Matt,

Your problem is NOT related to option settings.

It is likely that one of the data wires at a Masterlink connection has an intermittent short or high resistance to ground which will cause the protocol handshaking to start over again as if you were powering everything up from scratch. That's why it has such a large delay.

Are all the Masterlink cables connected via a Masterlink junction box with plugs or manually wired. If manually wired you need to check all the connections to ensure there are no shorts between signals or to the screen.

Re: 32 AVANT SLOW TO RESPOND

Many thanks for your help keith  what troubles me is that the 28 avant is not affected

i can recall that years ago my system played up and there was a external junction box that had got damp i can access this conector is this a job that a lay person can under take and if so can i purchase a new connection box it was certainly manually wired

    regards

    Matt
