Jandyt:
Ok Frede My BeoMaster 5000 Type 2005 is Serie 07 Number 34097 My BeoLab 500 Type 5303 is number 46808, unfortunately, a scratch runs through the serie number. It is either 08 or 03. Hope this helps, and sorry for the delay.
Andy T.
Hi Andy,
I am happy to see your input and actually the Beolab expanded the 'counting window' a little, which is most appriciated.
By the way your Beolab is of series 8 - which means means it is produced in 1969 (I think )

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
my beogram 1800 is in very fine condition except a few scratches on the plexiglass cover, which could be removable with a good compound. the only problem I have with it is the very rare and/or expensive sp10 cartridge. do you know if there are some cheapest replacement adaptable cartridge existing?

Do you have a SP10 perhaps without the diamond? If so you can have it re-tipped which is not very expensive. There are some possibilities on the internet, where you can find B&O pick-up's but if you really wish to have the SP10 with correct nude-line sfarical diamond, the only good solution the original or the original re-tipped.

Yes of course: http://www.schallplattennadeln.de/
This company is doing a very good job and several of the members on this site has allready used this service.
You can see here which diamond type was the original for the SP10. This can help you when ordering, I hope.

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
The SP12 was a recognised upgrade for the SP10. The rare cartridge is probably the SP8/9 which was that fitted to the Beogram 3000 type 5210.

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
Hi,
Just signed up, just bought a BL5000, type 5303, Serie 2, serial number 66407
Beomaster 5000S Type 2007, serie 01, serial number 16757
also have a Beomaster 5000 type 2013, Serial number 74824, serie 01
I knew the Amp was defective when I bought it, am always up for a challenge! Turned out to have two shorted transistors in the right channel, looks like it crosses to a 2N5320, and the 3000uF/50V electrolytic hisses and leaks chemicals. The original brand is no longer available according to the website, does anyone have any idea of a suitable replacement?
Thanks,
Bert

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
Hi Bert,
Tks. for the ID of your products.
There are no direct replacement transistors - and please be very careful - I never use anything else than the originals for this amplifier. When I can use the original is because I use doner parts from other Beolab products.
The capacitors - you can use any new parts e.g. 4700uF / 100V for output and power supply. Please use good quality parts and for your own convinience - use parts with the original diameter. It will be more easy to mount these.

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
I agree with Frede. The 2N3055 transistors can still be found but the risk of receiving counterfeit transistors exists, even from trusted dealers. I was lucky to buy a small amount of New Old Stock RCA originals a couple of years ago, the same type as B&O used back then, but I've also seen fake products, listed at Ebay and even from my own (otherwise superb) component dealer.
Use original parts if you can. Semiconductors doesn't wear out so even used transistors are better than buying new and risking a tragedy.

Frede et al,
Another tuner for your list... Does this expand the Serie 01 list by 51 units?

Thanks for the registration, the result of the Serie 01 count - see below.
As you see your product did not expand the number count of serie 01 but is a most valued input for me. I have now a 'very good picture' of the quantities of the Beomaster and Beolab production quantities.
Thank you very much

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
Hello list & Frede-Classic
Some time ago I got my hands on a pair of Beolab 5000s and one Beomaster 5000.
They are:
Beolab 5000: Type 5303, Serie 04, No. 32000, E-4 (Oak)
Beolab 5000: Type 5303, Serie 10, No 57981, P-3 (Palisaner/Rosewood)
Beomaster 5000: Type 2005, Serie 03, no. 61537, E-4 (Oak)
Looks like it's only the one in the middle that ads to the list - expanding the Series 10 with only 4
Btw: The Oak-versions must be rather rare (and it's a bit pale - I'm not sure that I like it that much).
Frede, have you got any idea of the distribution between Teak, Rosenwood/Palisander and Oak/Eg

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
Hi Claus,
Welcome to BeoWorld and the 5000 club!
I have never heard of... nor seen a set in Oak... Are they "factory" or perhaps redone?
Could you post a pic or two?

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
Thanks Burantek,
Here is a pic that shows the Oak (as well as the one in Rosewood/Palisander).
I'm sure it's "factory" because the label says "E-4" (where Rosewood/Palisander is "P-3" - and Teak is either "T-1" or "T-2") I remember this from working in the Radio-TV business (app 1975-1985) - and selling a lot of B&O.
Sorry about the state they are in... Haven't done anything to them yet (time and other projects). As you can see, the former owner has swaped the small wood panels at the bottom (so it's Rosewood on the Oak Beolab and vice versa). And the 220 Volt plug on the Beomaster is a "female" - you can imagine that the live-plug must have been a "male" with 220 V on the two pins sticking out. Crazy!

Re: Privat survey of Beolab 5000 - Beomaster 5000 producs
And thank you, Claus!
Well... there they are! Looking forward to what Frede can add to this.
I am about to have several cabinets redone. I had inquired about other wood species options on another thread, so I find this not only incredibly interesting, but also very timely!
