    Re: BeoTime now on www.bang-olufsen.com

Seems an absolutely pointless and irrelevant product to me. But I have been known to be wrong before!

Surely an absolutely fundamental function of a product such as this should be a large display of the time, especially when first thing in the morning, focusing is not that easy for most people.

Style over substance springs to my mind.

I have to agree with Kokomo, all BeoSounds and BeoVisions have a built-in timer and can display the time, so what's the point?Having a separate display for the clock?

But the clock doesn't even show during the night, you have to move the flute..!

And the remote control features are so looong to activate, you'll need to press at least 4 times a key before being able to activate one source: why not fitting each of the 3 small squares with a set of functions chosen by the user, e.g the first square for 4 audio sources, the second square for 4 video sources and the 3rd square for 4 PC/digital sources ??

And if the price is really more than a Beo4, what is the reason? It does much less, so it should cost less..not to mention the length of the flute: almost 40 cm! The bedside table will be quite busy..

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

I'm excited. I'm still not a fan of the form factor, but I did like it better in person than pictures.

The concept is much needed. Few clients end up using the timer feature as it is complex and must be programmed at the master which is seldom in the bedroom.

    This will sell like hotcakes.

There is scarcely anything in this world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey. - John Ruskin

I agree with Trip here, this will sell. (And do read the comments thread on the engadget link that Alex supplies us with!)

Anyone know whether one can program several alarms during a day? I'd love to use one to start certain radio and television programmes.

    Cheers!

That was the first thing running through my mind when I read the tag line on the site: "BeoTime: Your bedroom's best friend."

Strikes me as something for someone who has everything. A gift item?......... probably, for some. A must have, obviously not ........... an "I want one" item ........... not for me.

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

    Re: BeoTime now on www.bang-olufsen.com

Fairly good 'intro' product, as it can have some use to somebody who has no B&O equipment.
For me, bit of an expensive luxury.

To be honest, I have no use for it. I usually don't buy something I don't need, but I really like it...

Looks really different from anything else out there.

Personally I find it a true B&O object both in concept, function and in design (and in price!!).

I do love it and will probably get one after we reno the bedroom.
