DVD1 region - i really need your help!

    Robert:

    I found this on the Beoworld product page for DVD 1, where it states how to change the region code;

"NOTE: This method does not make the DVD1 Region-FREE. There is a limit of FOUR changes to the product over its lifetime (without professional servicing.) USE THIS INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Remove any CD or DVD and disconnect the power.

Press and hold << and >> on the front panel (not the remote) while reconnecting the power plug.

The current setting shows on the display.

Use << or >> on the front panel (not the remote) to change Region number.

Press PLAY to store. Wait 15 seconds until TV screen shows blue."

    Reference: http://www.beoworld.org/faq_view.asp?id=78

I tried this procedure and nothing came up on screen (it's a MKII dvd1). I think it is in region 0 mode, but it only plays half the region 4 discs i play.

How do you change the region on a DVD1 mkII? Can any body help me? Please!

Dave, I took mine to the authorised service centre here in Melbourne and they fixed it on the spot. Do you have one in Adelaide?

    Hi Dave,

It is only a limited number of that you can change the region using this methode. But a dealer should be able to change it in a matter of munites, and then it is permant Region 0.

Re: DVD1 region - i really need your help!

I'm not sure i typed my question right

Thanks for your replies so far i appreciate it.

It already is region 0 (it came from Lee). I assume. it's behaving the same way my BC1 was, and i went into it's service menu and it said it was in region 0, so i changed it to region 4 and have had no problems since. There seems to be no way of checking on my DVD1. No service menu.

There must be a way to change it to my region (region 4). I tried pressing << >> and re-plugging it in, nothing happened.

Being in region 0 means it doesn't play some of my discs, which are ALL region 4... hasn't anybody else experienced this issue? It seems to be a mystery

    Dave,

Try this: OSD -> Personal Preferences -> Functions -> Access Control -> Change Country -> GO

    Dave

Aargh! And the difference between a Mk1 and 2...

I looked at the DVD2 manual thinking it may have similar SW to your Mk2 -no luck (so far)... If I find anything, I will let you know. Sorry...

Quick Q: How are you accessing that menu? Have you tried the BLUE button on Beo4?

I have also confirmed the procedure from the service manual as set forth in your original post...
