chrisped: Hi All & BeoSystem 3 owners (I am soon to be one)
The panels that work really well with a BeoSystem 3 are the Panasonic D7, D8, & D9 - is this correct?
Panasonic has come out with a new range of displays and more is to come over the summer - the panel is called G10 - how well will this panel work with a BeoSystem 3? Best guesses / opinions / etc more than welcome please.
What panel is in the new BeoVision plasma i.e. BeoVision 9 ?
Pioneer is also coming out with a new generation of plasma late this summer (apparently better than anything seen before based on the reviews). How well does pioneer displays work with a BeoSystem 3?
Kind Regards
Christian
Presently the panels used in the BV4 and BV9 are the D9 panasonic panels , the D10 panasonic panel is in fact a 1080 res panel. the D7 and D8 panels are a bit old hat to give the beosystem3 justice now.
I would not get to carried away about the next fantastic offerings from pioneer, panasonic et al- the mags are there to SELL the technology!it is not always better!
Anything other than a commercial panasonic screen cannot be operated with the beo4 and even when using the panasonic panel be aware that you cant control, contrast, brilliance or colour and sometimes on-off, you have to use the supplied remote to do this.
As to the D10 panel. In fact the picture watching freeview or dvd is degraded compared to D9. Not for nothing has B&O not yet brought in these panels as I think the BS3 needs alteration in some way to get the D10 to workto the same standard as D9 with low res sources.
Unless you are watching all HD content and using a blueray player. I would suggest you look at the present D9. You will find it pretty much perfect and given the D10 panasonic screen is more expensive than D9 maybe an idea to buy the BV4 and have no compatablity isues
This is what i decided upon in the end and lets face it the point of B&O is to have easy operation via one remote and I thought any other solution spoils the ethos of this. In addition I wanted the system to scale the image properly and some have reported problems with pioneer screen not doing this.
