Re: BeoVision 7-40 MkIV, First impression
Ok. Thanks. I'll try that.
But... Has anyone experienced that their MK IV makes a significant humming sound when turned on? Sounds like a fan, or a drive at full speed.... Do I need to contact the dealer. Quite annoying actually.
I did not say anything before as I thought it was my Apple TV's hdd, but now I know it is the TV.
Also my Beolab 9's are hissing when I put my ear to them. I thought one of the features of active speakers was that they should not do that...??

Yes, I had that issue and it's not on the MKIII - however, it was very quiet. Almost undetectable. You must be fairly close to your TV or ultra-sensitive to the sound?
I only noticed it when, say, I switched over to the PS3 and I forgot to switch the PS3 on, so I was sitting there with a blank screen and slightly hissing speakers. As soon as the PS3 was on, you couldn't hear the noise from the speakers.

Oh yes, I re-read your post and you said you put your ear to the speakers. Exactly! Sitting 3 metres away you barely hear the hiss! It's there, and isn't on this MKIII I have now, so I don't know what changed on the MKIV to cause it?

Re: BeoVision 7-40 MkIV, First impression
Beolab:
BeoCare responed to my mail and said that it shuld be 1920x1080p 100Hz when you watching a SD 50Hz source.
And 1920x1080p 96Hz when you watching a 24p source.
A new firmvare will fix this interpolation issue! So now we don´t have 100Hz updating freqvens on the BV7 MkIV.
I can confirm that my two day old BV 7-40 MK IV has the same problem.. :-(

Re: BeoVision 7-40 MkIV, First impression
Hi All
I have just had my 7-40 MK IV SW updated to 7.05. I seem to experience an increase in fannoise after the update. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Before the update, it was not noticeable but now after using the tv for say a couple of hours, after muting my tv, the noise is very annoying and not acceptable. I am having my SW downgraded later this week so i guess i will find out for sure then
But in the meantime, does anyone else experience this aswell?

Re: BeoVision 7-40 MkIV, First impression
Hi
I have a 7-40 Mark III and upgraded the software to 7.05. I had the same problem with the fan-noise. I have downgraded to my old software 5.08, and now the TV is silent again.

Hi Martin
That is so nice to hear. I was sure it was the new software. I will let my dealer know and have him report back to B&O in Struer.
