I have on my desk a Beogram 7000 which has been mishandled sometime in the past. The wire drive for the arm carriage is detached, unfortunately so that the "holder H" (as designated in the service manual) has snapped off. It's still there, hanging on the spring, but I can't seem to locate exactly where it should be. Does anyone have a photo of the area where it can be seen?

Seems like a flimsy part and probably not the first one that has snapped off. The white plastic doesn't seem to be such type that I'd have much luck with superglue. I was planning to drill a small hole in the carriage and epoxy a small metal peg into it - anybody have easier or more feasible patents thought of already?

       mine was like yours and I did the exact fix you are thinking over 5 years ago & it is still going strong.

Thanks Chris, excellent! I managed to locate the original place for the plastic peg - right side inside perimeter of the hole in the carriage - but I'm sure trying to glue it back will be a waste of time.

I'll try and remember to take a couple of pics when I attempt this, probably tomorrow

A 8-10mm long 3mm screw from below through the hole, a thin and not too wide washer and
a nut on top and a bit of superglue to lock it.
Then the spring will grip nicely around the threaded screw shaft.

And you're right, superglue doesn't work on ABS plastics.

The repair I did was similar to this. I used a falt headed brass rivet & filed it into a "peg" shape to take the cord. I then made a thin groove to take a spring clip which secures it above where it pushes through the carriage. I also used some epoxy resin to make doubly sure.

Hi Mika, I am currently undertaking the same repair as in this post( the plastic clip holding the wire drive broke ) . In one of your photos the entire tone arm assembly looks to be hinged up to allow access to it's underside. Can you let me know how you did this. I cannot find a reference to it in the service manual. I have a Beogram 6500.

PS: you did a fine job. 

Unclip the rear steel rod from the base.
Carefully !
Unclip one and slide the rod out of the other.
