    AV9000 link questions

I'm the owner of af 1998 IT version and got some questions regarding linking.

I got a 1611 and 1615 converterbox. The 1611 goes for audio since the AV9000 is one of the last versions.

In order to link to a LX5500 do I have to use 1615 between them as the video is built in the AV9000? I understand the AV9000 has to be master only.

Yes, AV9000 must be videomaster. You will need the Beolink video 1615 for the LX. I had a similiar set up with AV9000 and 1610 for the BS7000 and 1615 for the MX4000 in a linkroom.

I'm glad I allready got the 1611 and 1615 with the LX5500 back in 2006.

The basics would then be the free masterlink socket on the AV9000 goes to 1611 converter to make it AUX and then to audio of choice.

The other masterlink socket on the AV9000 (normally taken) goes to 1615 converter and the AUX then to LX5500? Not sure if it's the masterlink cabel on the AV9000 panel that should be connected or to the second socket.

An RF cabel from AV9000 after video distrubtion point to the LX5500.

    Re: AV9000 link questions

Sorry, I don`t know what you mean by "other masterlink socket". My AV9000 got one socket for masterlink. There is another socket for the control center....You will need a masterlink junction box. Cut the masterlink cable and install the junction as described in the manual. Connect two ML cable. On the first connect your 1611 for the audio system, on the second the 1615 for the LX. Now you need two datalink cable for the converters. Connect the Audio Aux out of the 1611 to the Aux socket of the audio system, and the Audio Aux out of the 1615 to the Aux of your LX.

The RF out of your AV 9000 must be connected to the antenna in of the LX. You have to tune in the Link frequency.

I understand the part with the junction box. As it is I do have one that have 1 ml cabel going into the box and the 2 ml cabels comming out.

All I have to do is plug the 1 ml end into the free ml socket on the AV9000 and connect the rest as you described?

It looks like I'm able to be using most of the link parts that came with the LX.

Yes, should work. Correct option setting is important. AV9000 V.OPT 2, audio system A.OPT 0 and LX V.OPT 2 or 2.6. You will find more info in the LX manual.

    Re: AV9000 link questions

Thank's very much for your help.

The LX will be a bedroom tv and I do have a unused mcl2av xtra tvkit that its going to be connected to for that purpose.

As for the AV9000 I ain't got Beolab speakers so I plan to get the audio from the aux line so I can have stereo and center speaker going.

The AV9000 has a set top controller build in. Where do I ad a dvdplayer in the setup? The free AV port on the AV9000? Which I think is going to be used by a digital box for tv signals. Can I ad that to the LX instead?

The LX has a vx7000 connected. Can I still use it with the LX?

    Re: AV9000 link questions

An MCL2 AV is a mastercontrol link device. Would be difficult to use it in an ML system.....

When you activate the AV9000 in video mode, SPEAKER 3 mode will be activated by default, but you will only get mono (center) sound.

Starting AV9000 in audio mode will activate SPEAKER 2 mode, so you will get no sound. Maybe you should try V.OPT 1 and A.OPT 1 in your setup...

The STB controller is for STBs connected to AV2 port in V.AUX mode. To connect an additional DVD player (+ STB) you can use a SCART-expander.

(www.oneremote.dk ?) or Beo. If you connect the DVD player to the LX, you can only use it in the linkroom.

Yes you can use the VX7000 connected to the LX - only in linkroom. To activate VX9000 from linkroom press LINK - V.TAPE.

    Re: AV9000 link questions

The audio system will be a Beomaster 6500 with MCL2AV type 2047 links. There will be 5 in total in the end with an mcl expander for the extra line.

The system will be MCL for the most part. As far as I plan it the LX goes through the aux to the MCL2 AVpanel and then it goes via mcl cabel to the Beomaster 6500. Most likely a mcl distrubtion box where all the 2047 will join up + the av2kit that will go the speaker 2 outputs on Beomaster 6500.

The RF goes from LX to MCL2AV panel and then to AV9000 after video distrubtion point.

The AV9000 is going to 1611 for audio to aux on Beomaster 6500.

The only bit thats ML is the AV9000 and if it was MCL I would only need the RF signal from it.

Is there any difference to it being ML for the Beovision?

    Re: AV9000 link questions

Ok. In this case you will not need a Beolink Video. Just connect your LX to an MCL2 AV, which is connected to your BM6500. BM6500 Aux socket is connected to a 1611 converter, which is masterlinked to the AV9000.
