Hello from the ex-moderator of the Italian forum,
I have recently refurbished my Beomaster 2400-2: replaced all electrolytic caps and trimpots, did the resoldering and final adjustments. Sonically it is flawless, however the following symptoms have since developed:
- the unit does not respond to the remote control - there's a new battery and I can clearly hear it buzzing when a button is pressed
- when powering on to any of tuner stations, there is a heavy station drift for two seconds, as if someone was turning the tuning wheel from bottom to top of the range; voltage stabilization, I suppose; this happens both after all night off state and after repetitively switching on and off, i.e. with supply stage fairly charged.
- when powering on to TAPE, the unit turns on but the control lamp doesn't light up and there is a faint and distorted sound from the TAPE input coming through; it then requires holding a finger on touch sensor for more than a second to accept the command.
Finally, I was hoping that the refurbishment would resolve the spike noise when powering on but it didn't.
Any help would be most welcome.
Thank you in advance.
