Same here, I want to know this info too.

I also want my dealer to contact me to say they have this fix. So far, no pro-active contact. If they don't bother, I hope they realise I'm unlikely to buy kit from them, soon.

hi there buddy well one of my dealers called me up and said that the update was being released and it is meant to be a fix all for the recent problems that have arrisen

    i am told:

4.24a caused problems with crashing and a fix came out that meant you had an update and had to have the scart lead connected all the time as the sync was going out but did not happen pre 4.24a.

5.02 causes problems with the tv needing a scart lead and HDTV link problems when using sky hd via a link room and the tv in some cases turns off the sky box for no reason and sometimes does not turn the sky box on at all.

i am told 5.08 fixes the need for a scart lead so this can be removed once again and only use HDMI as all other tv's do, i am also todl that there is a new puc called thompson HD for use wiht SKY HD that works differently to Pace SKY+ so this shoudl solve some issues too.

hopfully this will be a final fix as i have had my tv over a year and its been "broken" since it came out of the box.

get your dealer to speak to technical as im todl this is where the info came from.

    Hi everyone,

B&O Reading are coming to update my TV this morning. I will update you on how it goes... But this could finally be the moment when my TV finally works perfectly. I have my fingers crossed.

The folks at Reading have been superb throughout.

I'll update you on how it goes later today.

    Mark.

I had the update to my bv9/bs3 and it only partly took

be sure that you test the update and make sure it fully takes

    my front channels will not come on as a result of the mix up;

so now it's another trip to the shop

    good luck

    MJM

I'm ready for something new that I actually want to buy!

Have been running 5.08 the entire day and no problems so far. Have gone from 4.24 to 5.08. Like the new menu system - a good improvement. The link room works great with no HDCP issue.

Well I think B&O may have cracked all the problems - finally....

Watching the service tool, there must have been a good 10 or so updates that were applied.

Thanks to Phil at B&O Reading for his continuing top customer service!

PS. The AST feature is still dimmed out.

One surprise was that the DVB-T module got flashed and reset. Not sure what they updated there.

    Best, Mark.

Could that be a subtle hint to anyone reading the forums who might know who your/our dealer is Chris? Indifferent

My BV7 Mk 3 40 has recently been squirted with 5.04.  Was that the last update before 5.08.

I haven't even had 1 update since I bought my TV. Judging from what I read on here, its just as well! Can someone tell me if 'any' of these updates actually improve picture quality? If not then I am not really interested!

    Simon.

    Re: Software 5.08 for BV7MK3

The reason we had to upgrade in the first place was due to the 'white flash' problem when watching 1080p Blu-ray movies or Playstation 3 games. That was fixed in 4.24 if I can remember correctly.

Problem is that 4.24 then brought issues with the TV switching off for no reason. sw 5.00 fixed this, but then brought the other problem of a link room TV showing HDCP warnings without the 'master' being on at the same time. sw 5.08 apparently fixes that problem.

I heard from my dealer that they won't upgrade my TV and that they'll organise for a B&O engineer to visit!

If you do no have the initial white flash issues, I wouldn't bother upgrading! None of the software upgrades bring anything compelling, apart from new issues (and fixes).

Correct, although the difference was negliable. I'm going to upgrade to the MKIV with internal Blu-ray (as long as it can decode the audio) in May. I think this will be everything the MKIII should have been.

Hi i have been following this link and looks like this will solve my problems as well just out of intrest are you using a scart as well as hdmi and if no scart do you have a link B&O tv as i understand this is why you need a scart to control tv in the link room

    Thanks

hi there paul sorry my set up is 1 room only

i know that if you use the link system you need scart as that is how the AV is broadcast, this shoudl fix the issue with link if you are getting problems with a link TV.

Also there is a different puc table entry for SHK HD now
