    Beocenter 8000 cd-problem

I hava a beocenter 8000 with a non-working cd-player. After a look around the forum I changed a couple of resistors and a transistor that messured out of range. Now the CD spins up and keeps spining at a speed near light:), after 3-4seconds the lid opens. Before doing any "repairs" the cd did maybe move for 3/4 of a round. Anybody who have a clue?

    Re: Beocenter 8000 cd-problem

That is probably the best thing to do, but I like to try doing it myself. This is a hobby of mine. So if anybody has any suggestions about what to check out next, I am very happy for every answer...

    Re: Beocenter 8000 cd-problem

First, do you have the right instruments, knowledge, skills and test CD's to service B&O CD decks or
are you working on the "kitchen table" ?

Replacing bad components is one thing. Finding out why they went bad is another.
What was wrong with the "out of spec" components and which components were they ?

Did you check laser current, focus control, radial balance and the presence of a clean catseye pattern ?

    Re: Beocenter 8000 cd-problem

I am working at home, but I have opportunity to do more advanced mesuring and component checks elsewhere. I found that two 10ohms resistors where out of specs, one of them was blown(burned). After reading around on this forum I found that this resistors worked as fuse for a transistorpair. I tested the two transistors and found that one in fact was not working. So I replaced it. But the problems are still the same... This is where I found the tips about changing the transistors: -->

PS I dont have any test cds, but I have an extra laser and engine from an old Philps cd player.

If not yet solved, if the disc is spinning counterclockwise at lightspeed check T6314 on PCB 31. -9Volt. This is a SMD transistor on the back of the PCB. Servicemanual page 2-14.

Or get a secondhand Philips CD-Player with simmilar PCB's,
