I own a pair of 1991 Beolab 2500 speakers that I would like to use as computer speakers. Unlike the Beolab 4000/8000 speakers which have a RCA line-in, I am using a 7 pin Din to RCA adapter to transfer the audio signal. The problem that I face is I need a 5V relay to signal on the speakers. I have read about doing this for using an aftermarket subwoofer and a computer setup using the USB port as a 5V trigger to turn on the speakers.
I am asking the form if anybody has done something similar to this and can help guide me through the process. I would like to know if it would be best that I use an external relay to trigger the 5V if it will draw too much energy from my usb port.
Thanks
