moxxey: I disagree. I don't think a pair of BL4's would offer an excellent audio experience without a centre speaker. Also, the BV7 doesn't look right without the 7.4 or 7.2. A while back I had my BV7-32 with just the BL6000s connected (7.1 was back for repair) and the sound was terrible. Just didn't sound right - poor version of the 7.2.
Well it won't sound as good will it? You just need to look at the tech specs and the price differential to work that one out. Maybe they should just slash £2000 off the price of a BV7-40 and throw-in a pair of BL5's for free? 10%

No need to be sarcastic. We just disagree. If you believe the 4's are the way forward, fair enough.

Moxxey, Sarcasm aside, you have made a disagreement to my post based on sound quality. There is no one I would think who would disagree with you that as the BL4 is in terms of technical specification, price point and for most people, actual sound performance is a significantly lesser model to that of the BL7.2. However, that was clearly not my point. What I indicated in my original post was that I believe that B&O are trying to stimulate sales by breaking down the purchase of the BV7-40 from a £9,500 purchase to something I would see as a £5,000 to £5,500 (my opinion) one while at the same time trying not to either debase the model or the brand. It also has the advantage of hopefully getting the customer back in to the store to bolt-on additional loudspeakers without losing value on the original purchase and recycling. I made no comment on the sound quality - just the perceived strategy. Do I think it is the way to go? Well if does actually stimulate sales for the dealers and B&O ...Yes. Good. Would I go that route? Well I have been very fortunate and have had the ability to buy full system but if that were not so, I would consider it over a BV6 or BV8 if within my pocket. 10%

From my experience, the BeoVision 7 is not often the first B&O purchase. It is likely that clients will already have some pair of speakers for the task so it may not be necessary to stoop to the level of BeoLab 4s (over which I would likely choose Form 2s on an extension cord). Think of the B&O client who owns a 9000 with 8000s. Now they pop in a screen on a flat bracket for under $10k that can endlessly expand over time and give them a phenomenal performance on day one. It's not a bad strategy from my perspective as a dealer.

Thing is, you can't just rip the package into pieces and call that a strategy. You could buy a BV7 without speaker long time back. Problem is, that all stand and mount options assume that there is a BL7. If you don't take the speaker you would be looking at a whole and the guides for the speaker. So question is, do I get a new, alternate floor stand, table stand, wall mount that works without the BL7's? Cheers JK

Yes you can order a new Bv7 -32-40" Close wallbracket or use Bc6 floorstand for the Bv7-32 without mounting holes... Sheers

I bought a new BV7-32 without speaker at my local B&O shop, without any problem...and finally got a second hand 7.1, which is easy to find at a very good price.
Cheers, marc.

There is a discussion in the german form that states that the BV7 MKIV will be 1500 Euro cheaper then the current MKIII, this is with the blueray and 100hz screen. So that fits the reduced prices that we found in this thread.

I've just been confirmed the prices in France, just for the TV, without speaker:
- BV 7-40" with Blu-ray, full HD,...available probably in april: 9426 €;
- BV 7-40" without DVD player: 5310 €!
I'd be a real alternative, if the only difference is the DVD player. Any precisions regarding the specifications of the second model?
Marc.

No, I've asked my local B&o seller about the upgrade, the price...He didn't know about the 32" or wanted to sell me only the 40" model.

That is quite a difference in price, i mean the difference between
the version with and the version without Blu-Ray is about € 4000.- (!)
Surely there must be other differences.

Maybe a Beolab difference?

I called to confirm and it sounded that the only difference was the DVB/S. This new version, available in april, seems to be quite interesting, regarding the beosystem 3 integrated, the DVB/HD, the full HD - 100 hz panel. I have already been amazed by the picture quality of my BV 7-32. I'd like to be quite sure before ordering this new version without DVD player.

That's the way to go! This will attract new costumers.
It certainly got me exited. I seriously considered buying another brand tv; but this news keeps me sitting on my money a little longer.
Please let this news be true!

The BV7-32 Monitor is 37000 SEK or 3400 € in Sweden.
Anyone know where I can find the spec?

If this will be true I am more than happy to replace my BV3-32 in my office with a BV7! I was close to purchase a Sony or Pioneer panel and find workarounds for the ML integration. But at these pricepoints B&0 is not far off anymore.
Hopefully this wil be true.

Yeah,
I'd like to replace my BV3 too but BeoVision were really too expensive.
Only a BV7 could compete with a BV3 (AR screen, DD Sound, ML, STB, VisionClear) but far too expensive.
Now, i think it's gonna be a great deal !
