BeoSound 5 Display query!!
Hi all, I asked my local shop this question, and they couldn't answer it. It is a strange request but hopefully, someone here might be able to answer. Can the display be turned off whilst playing music? Reason for asking is that I would like the screen nice and black whilst playing music. For me, that would look so much smarter. Any feedback would be great!!

I think the answer is no, it will only show album cover.

Re: BeoSound 5 Display query!!
The simple answer is NO from a B&O standpoint The long answer is whilst the Beosound 5 has a "Standby" button (top right hand side) that is the same as pressing the standby button on any B&O product or remote. The screen gets its +12 & +5 volts, video from the Beomaster 5 via a seperate cables to the Beosound 5 which is effectively a screen and input device to the Windows operating system, meaning that if you as a user had access to the operating system like you do on your Windows PC, then you could switch the screen off. Because the Beomaster 5 is running Windows XP Professional embedded, the B&O code only uses functions which it has written an API to interface too, and switching the screen off is not one of them from my investigation. From the service menu you can get to the windows desktop, but there is still limited funcctionality implemented.

No, there currently isn't. That doesn't mean there won't be when it's released however - we'll have to just wait and see!
