    Beomaster 6500 system

I am new at this. I inherited such system, disconnected, with cut wires, parts all over the place in a "new" house.SO far I was able to retrace and reconnect everything (almost) and the sound is grreat.

    1) I still need a MCL 2A (missing). Anyone knows how I can get one?

    2) I still have a pair of Beolab 6000 to connect. Do I need a MCL 2AV with PowerLink cables? Can it be conected to an MCL 2A? Or directly to the Speaker output 1 on the back of the master?

Any advice from the pros will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

this sounds like a second pair of bl6000? correct? if the first pair are actives -you should be able to daisy-chain them all together... if they are the only pair then yes -they would be in the first set of available powerlink sockets on the master (or, again, daisy-chained to just one).

if you desire to place them in a proper link room, then either the av or the a will work, i assume you have/will need the wall transceiver / mcl cabling?

    let us know...

    and welcome to beoworld!

    Re: Beomaster 6500 system

Thanks for your help. I am in Washington DC.

The house I moved in has the MCL cabling (of course parts are missing like the MCL 2A or 2AV of which the cables are just cut off! and that fed the kitchen speakers- and maybe a MX 5000 in the bedroom - right on top of the kitchen...) I am guessing all that fom the manuals I found and by following the cables in the basement and the walls. I have never had a B&O system, but am fascinated by "old" stuff. I would like to reconstruct the system. So far I have three rooms functioning, with two working Beolink 1000 remotes. And I "won" a pair of Beolab 6000 which I can now conect thanks to your help.

I still would like to get my hands on a MCL 2A - I lost one on eBay the other day - I was new at that too and didn't quite grasp the strategy...

Any help is welcome. Thanks again.

    Re: Beomaster 6500 system

    Hi Jeff,

Again I am in Washington, DC. If you can help locate a MCL 2A relay box I would be grateful.

    Two questions though:

    1)      Since connecting a pair of BeoLab 6000 via PowerLink to the BeoMaster 6500 PowerLink outputs defeats the Speaker 1 outputs for central room speakers, can I use a Y PowerLink connector to connect on one side the BeoLab 6000 pair and on the other side a MCL 2P amplifier to which I connect a set of passive speakers? I suppose the PowerLink outputs would be able to handle the load.

    2)      Can I connect a second pair of passive speakers to a MCL 2A, or would that blow up the unit? I am trying to circumvent the one MCL 2A I am lacking.

    Thanks for your advice.

    David
