    ............
the Beo5 manual is on the B&O website, but not under "Beo5"
    .....................................................................................................

How and where did you get the manual? I want to have a look at it, too :)

I found it under User Guide, you would have to be registered to download.

    Beo4/Beo5

    Beo5 detail

    Beo5 activate

Zone / Source / Source control

The Beo4 will communicate with other devices if you have a Lintronic Box. This is one of the best products I have bought with my B&O. What is more you don't have to have the dealer set it up for you like you do with the Beo5!!! I suspect this is to stop people setting the Beo5 up to operate other brands of TV's, DVD players etc. With the lintronic box you can set up pretty much anything that operates via a Remote Control. The only advantage that I can forsee with the Beo5 is that you will have less button combinations to operate third party components (which I think will be limited to curtains airconditioning, lights etc. rather than non-B&O audio and video products)

to find the manual on the B&O site you have to be registered as a member, then look for downloads, then for user guides, then select the userguide of the DVD2 and you've got it!Dog

The next step is to find the software that allow customistation of the Beo5!!

I wonder if it needs some special hardware as well...

Where the Lintronic unit falls down is that it has no modal information, where the PUC does. It does have macros though which the PUC doesn't have.

Cool, it is a software, not a web site, so it will be available for download soon ;-)

As much as I'd love to buy a beo5, I would not have to go to the retailer to have it configure each time I plug a new device in... especially as this may happen more often if the remote can handle non b&o stuff.

Were these photos on the official web site as well?

    Sure about what?

That it is a software... I said that because of the windows buttons at the top right corner of the window

that it will be available for download... I did not mean it will be an official download, but if it is  a software it will end up on the net very quickly

    Re: New BEO-remote

Thanks for the pics of the software to program it.

I think the Beo5 will be a much nicer device when you can program it yourself; I know this is not what B&O wants but I think us BeoNerds will be able to get a copy of that software running. That thought makes me want de Beo5!

    Thanks for the hint.

But: What's the sense of it to "cover" the Beo5-Manual with the DVD2-name an publish it on the web?  Are there subversive  employees working at B&O???

Anyway. I think, I will get a new gadget in a few month...

    Re: New BEO-remote

The screen shots make the programming of the Beo 5 look straight forward.  I can't see why they would want to burden the dealers with configuration?

    Re: New BEO-remote

In my view, this is not a burden, its intentional.

If I was B&O, after the product is launched, I would start a marketing campaign targeting current high end customers who are likely to use the LIST on the Beo4 a lot. The dealers may need to update the Beo5 a few times, but that gives them a further selling opportunity and clearly that is what marketing is all about, providing selling opportunities.

Also, I am sure that some dealers will charge a fee for doing it.

    Regards Keith....
