    Re: New BEO-remote

    Next to this advanced remote,

will there be some kind of basic, entry-level remote ?

The Beo4 will stay and apparently the remotes will not come as standard but as an option Beo4 or 5........

Do you think prices will be reduced by the value of the beo4, when it will not be included any more? I don't.

From what I heard, the Beo4 will be included in the standard price, but you can get a Beo5 instead if you pay the difference.

I think B&O could not really market a TV at 4 times the price of their competitors and not offer a remote in the price, that would appear very mean!

I don't see how they could exclulde a remote.

How on earth would you set the TV up without one??????????

Easy for an audio system, bit more difficulf for TV

well you buy a Beo4 or a Beo5, and then you have the remote to set it up.

so you pay £6000 for a tv and then have to cough up for a remote otherwise you can't set it up.....

now, thats what I call 'customer service'

    Re: New BEO-remote

My local dealer displays a price including remote (currently Beo 4 - not sure what he will be doing when the 5 comes out).  Then if you already have a Beo4 he subtracts the price and you feel you have a bargain.  Fairly basic psychology but works for me Smile

    Re: New BEO-remote

French retail prices advised by B&O France specify that a Beo4 comes as standard with all TVs and Hi-fis (except BeoSound 1 and BeoSound 3) : should someone not want it, the price will be adjusted by substracting the cost of a Beo4.

So, if someone wants a Beo5, they will deduct the cost of the standard Beo4 and add the cost of the Beo5 : pretty straightforward. B&O could not afford to sell TVs without remotes, but I do agree it's weird that some dealers advertise on a TV price without including the cost of a remote...
