    No DVD2 - No Beomedia 1 - No Bluray

    I have just taken a BV4-65, a beolab 7.2, 4 beolab3, a beolab 2. I have not yet chosen other audio and video devices.

    1) What I have to take as DVD recorder (DVD 2 is discontinued!?) ? Could I take a HDR2 or it will be changed soon with another model ? Or I have to wait for a DVD3 with bluray ?

    2) What I have to take as audio system (Beomedia 1 should be discontinued soon!, and Beosound 5 should arrive in few months) ? I could buy a beocenter 2 with DVD (for radio, cd, and dvd player) and use HDR2 as recorder, and playstation3 as bluray ?

Do you have some other combinations or opportunities

    thanks

    M.P.

I don't think B&O will be producing any more peripheral boxes such as "DVD 3" or "HDR 3".  They seem to be putting more emphasis on Beo5 and PUC (Peripheral Unit Control) to opertae third party boxes.

The only Blu-ray function will be the updated Bvis 7 40 when it is released next year.  BeoSound 5 will be a music server, not able to record TV programmes.

I don't think that statement is true. PUC and STB was always there. They just have limited resources.

Nothing wrong with a BC2 for music (you can get it without DVD which I decided not too.). BS5 is digital audio only, I see this more as an add on.

That said, I read here that b.ueray player sometimes have problems reading DVD so BC2 and Playstation makes sense to me.

I still expect them to do a blueray with DVD3. Just not next year. PS3 is not expensive and if you like games would have its place even with DVD3.

I have heard that only BV7 will feature a Blue-ray player in the future.....

There will be no stand alone Blue Ray player and BC2's future looks "iffy"

Why did you choose BL 7.2 instead of BL 10?

    The look? The sound?

DVD players can play CD, Bluray players should play DVDs and CDs...

So, the best option could be BC2 for music + Playstation (as DVD player ad bluray player) + HDR 2 (as recorder), and in a next future I could add BS5 ??!

Moreover, what could you buy now between a beomedia 1 (waiting for a beomedia 2 or BS5) and beoport, to read and use all files from a computer in a secondary room into the BV in the main room and in the others through beolink??

Since BO should not ever have an external bluray player, could I buy a sony or a panasonic dvd bluray player and recorder that are fully compatible and useble with beo 4 or beo 5?

Yes you can. But be sure to ask your dealer which one to buy. Then your dealer will see to the BeoVision has the correct software to operate it correctly.
