Hi, those anyone know if the mediaplayer Popcorn Hour can be added to the STB-list in my 7-40 MK III ?

Your dealer can create a custom STB for you for this device. He would just need the remote & device for testing. Is not difficult to do.

    Re: STB-list

The dealer can create a customized STB entry? This is new to me....as far as I know B&O is "willing" to compile a customer specific PUC for a certain device for a fee (aprox. 500 Euro or so).

However, on the most recent PUC list there is the Dvico 6500 media player, not to bad...

Yes they can. I don't know about the cost and owuld think it is different from dealer to dealer but when I bought my BV8 the dealer said it is relativly easy since we were not sure if Apple TV would work. It might be they send the device just off to headquarters but I think that is what the STB software does that the dealer has. It was mentioned in the launch document for the BV8 as well if I recall correct.

I would like to control a Samsung DTB 850P, is it in the latest puc-list?

or can my dealer "copy" the IR and convert them into a STB-table?

    I should know this...

Stupid question, I apologize for my ignorance... What does "PUC" stand for?

Love B&O, but no longer addicted.

Samsung DCB-P850 is there. This is the cable box, but I think it is the same as DTB = Terrestrial

    Thanx mr_ander_son

I just wonder if the stb-table is on a chip or if it´s made by flashtool on my BV6-26 type 9250?

I know the sw is updated by my dealer with flashtool, but what about the stb-table???

    Re: STB-list

The Set-top Box Controller (STB-C) information was replaced by PUC/IR-Table Generator information.

The STB-C Set-Top Box Controller was given a new name of Peripheral Unit Controller (PUC) to reflect the fact that products other than standard STB's were able to be controlled and the PUC can be updated from a PC loaded with the B&O software via pins 9 & 10 of the Masterlink socket.

The STB controller in older products can only be updated by changing a chip on the STB controller module.

Newer B&O products can be updated by the dealer and he can generate a customised IR table for your PUC from a library of available units. The library currently has 5 sections namely:-

    1. STB
    2. Home Media (Microsoft, Apple, Sony & TVX
    3. DVD
    4. VCR
    5. Projector

If the unit you wish to control is NOT in the library, then the dealer cannot produce the IR code download, but can request one be produce by Denmark for which a charge will be made. The dealer does NOT normally produce the actual IR codes for a device, he/she just selects the required package of codes from a pre-built list from within a B&O software package.

The Beocentre 6 STB-C/PUC can be updated with a flash download, but I believe the Beovision 6 cannot.

I guess you edited your most recent posting because the e-mail I received has 3 more lines than your posting.

In answer to your question missing from the posting about Table 3.91 North Europe 4.0. The short answer is "yes"

    Re: STB-list

    Hi

Do you know if the latest STB-C table for an Avant (non-RF, VCR model) is 3.91?

If so, can you point me in the right direction of where I can find out what devices are on this list before I actually pay for an upgrade.

    Thanks

    32" RF VCR Avant, 2 x 28" VCR Avant, DVD1, Beocom 6000, Beo5, A9 Keyring!

Keith - can you expand on section 2?  You say Microsoft - do B&O now have the STB codes for Windows Media Center?  I can't think of much else MS make that it could control...

Thanks Keith.  You wouldn't happen to know if that's the original Xbox or the Xbox 360?  Would seem a bit strange to have PS3 and original Xbox.

If it's 360, we're in business as Windows Media Center can be controlled with the Xbox 360 remote.

    Re: STB-list

Whilst I would expect it to be the Xbox 360, I don't know for sure.

However, if you have a Beo5 I can provide an XML file for you to test. If it works or not in the Beo5 will provide the answer..

    Re: STB-list

Unfortunately I don't, but thanks for the offer.  I searched the forum for Xbox, and it seemed to hint at it being for the original, but I couldn't find a post from someone who'd actually tried it.

I haven't got a BS3 yet (on the plan for next year sometime!), as that's what I'd be wanting to control MCE with.  Weebyx has managed to control it using any old STB profile (being a PC, you can bodge it to accept any IR command and translate it to something Media Center might understand), but understandably it being able to do it off the bat would be far more preferable!

    Thanks for the help!

    Re: STB-list

Well, perhaps we can open the question up to other Beoworld members who may have a Beo5 and an Xbox.

If anyone has an Xbox and a Beo5 with the configuration software, then I can provide an XML file for you to test.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: STB-list

Thanks for the information on the latest STB table for an Avant.

The thing is, I can't seem to see Virgin V+ on this list, yet my dealer is in the process of ordering me the chip as he claims V+ is on the list!

Can anyone clarify this please? If he's wrong I still have time to cancel the order.

Also, as I'm not familiar with all the devices in the list, can anyone suggest which are DVD players?

Thanks for your help as always

    32" RF VCR Avant, 2 x 28" VCR Avant, DVD1, Beocom 6000, Beo5, A9 Keyring!
