    b&o outside speakers

    mates,

I am building a house with a small covered back porch, 5ftx16ft, i have an extra set of bl4k and was wondering

if I should pick up a BL2k or use the 4ks; anyone used bl4ks outside? is the bl2k a better bet?

I don't think they would ever get wet i just wonder about the temperature changes??

    any thoughts??

    MJM

I'm ready for something new that I actually want to buy!

    Re: b&o outside speakers

    Hi

I would probably consider using a pair of dedicated passive out-door speakers (B&W makes some nice ones) and then using a beolink passive amp situated inside.

    best regards

I agree the B&W WM series are very good and work excellently with the Beolink passive.

I would never use BeoLabs outdoors, most definitely not recommended.

B&W's weatherproof speakers are fantastic, and together with a BeoLink Passive should do everything you want...

How does a Beolink Passive work?

    Better than wireless for outdoors?

How about a nice pair of CX50 or CX100?

I'm planning to have this in my veranda.

Beolink passive is an amp, so it can drive passive speakers, Beocentral.com has a good walk throug of all the different models of the beolink amp , look under link

No, I have glass doors and a roof at the veranda. Even if the veranda isn't 100% enclosed I think they will be OK. Will of course only have them there during summertime.

I don't like bying used stuff, but here I have no choice becaues the Beovox 1 doesn't fit. I would love a Beovox 2, a free standing passive speaker like CX50.

    Re: b&o outside speakers

With glass doors and a roof, I would not worry much about the speakers.

Around: PentaIII, CX100 and MCX35 on ML/MCL + MCL2-A, BeoPort and BL4 on ML, BS3300 + M75 as stand alone, BC6000 + BC600 and BT1100, LC1, LC2, Beo4, Beo5 and BL1000, BS2 and A8, EarSet2, Apron, Coffee mugs, Enamel Bagdes, Bath towel, Keyring, Books, Lots of miniature and the Bottle opener. Office: BC2300 + BL2500 and BS3. Summer house: BS Century.

    Re: b&o outside speakers

The BeoLink Passive is basically a ML control eye and an amplifier. The amplifier would sit indoors somewhere, with a long lead to connect to the IR eye which could be seated outdoors somewhere along with the speakers.

No, I wouldn't be afraid of using BeoLabs there. The main reason for me not to use active speakers is the risk that someone will take them.

Someone on the forum (might be Peter??) has said before that they have CX's in their bathroom. They have never suffered from foam rot, possibly due to the moisture in the air.

    Perfect! Big Smile

The only hatch (except the pricetag) is that my neighbours wouldn't be too happy about it.
