    Weak IR-signal ?

I have a Lutron-system with a wall-mounted keypad with a built-in IR-eye in one of my rooms at home. When I use the Beo 5 it is sometimes pretty hard to get the signal to the Lutron-system, I have to be pretty close.

Can the Beo 5 be set in some sort of "dealer mode" which gives a weaker IR-signal than normal ? I can recall that I have read something about some sort of dealermode somewhere on this site. If so, how do I change this ? Does anyone have any other suggestions or experiences ?

    Best regards

    Hans

You can enter in the Service Menu pressing Standby+Go and then, when cursor is over Options, press 0,0,Go. In the Dealer Options you can change your Beo5 to Normal Mode or Dealer Mode.

If you put the Beo5 in dealer mode it reduces the signal.

Whilst the Lutron IR sensors are less sensitive than the B&O and more directional, nevertheless they do work at a reasonable distance. I suggest you may have a faulty Lutron receiver unit. Have you tried it with the Beo4 to see if you get the same results ?

Every time I have seen problems with Lutron recieving IR there has been a big BV4 nearby blocking the signal.

I don't know your room or setup.  But if there is a BV4 in there, I would bet it will work with the TV off and not when it's on

Certainly, if you have a plasma screen in the same room as the Lutron it will dramatically reduce the IR sensitivity.

Yes, I have a 7-40 in the same room. I will check if the 5 is set in dealer mode or not. Thanks so far !

And it was set in Normal mode, not Dealer. Do you guys have any suggestions how I can improve the signal ? I am not satisfied at all right now...
