Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Iron Maiden, Paschendale from Dance Of Death. Lyrics are superb, about the 1917 Battle of Passchendaele, also known as the Third Battle of Ypres or simply Third Ypres, one of the major battles of World War 1, in which British, Canadian, South African & ANZAC units engaged the Imperial German Army. The battle was fought for control of the village of Passchendaele near the town of Ypres in West Flanders, Belgium. The Allies captured most of the high ground around Ypres at a cost of 140,000 lives. The song describes a soldier's vision of the battle.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields. Lest we forget.

Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?
Becord 9000 playing a mix tape that I'm only half done recording and its been at least a few years. The music so far is me on guitar and vocals playing Jimi Hendrix tunes with a bass player and a good drummer. Recorded straight to portable DAT back in 2003-2004.

Never really took off did it DAT. Although IMO it was a very good idea. Even remember a friend of mine buying one, as he had been using DAT for some time at work. Think it was made by Philips iirc. Craig

Listening to Weller's 'Stanley Road' LP on the Beogram 8002 - trying not to have on too loud given that it's late-ish on a Sun :)

Man, I feel like a woman by Shania. I have never been able to fully get that song out of my head. Also, the them to Gilligans Island. I wish these songs were never invented. They are ruining my life. _______________________ Stock Music | Free Sound Effects | Royalty Free Music

Kate Bush " Moments of Pleasure". Fantastic lyrics, even better string arrangement. One of her very best.
