The information I've found on the web is inconclusive, while the best description found is at http://www.beocentral.com/families/bg5005
"...in both technology and appearance it was basically the same as the Beogram 7000..."
The Beogram 7000 has built-in RIAA pre-amplifier that I know, but does the Beogram 5005 have it as well?
There's an FAQ which may help here.
However, i can tell you now that the 5005 doesn't have an inbuilt RIAA pre-amp.

The guts are the same as the 7000, except it doesn't have the RIAA.
You need a 3500,4500,6500 or 7000 if you want an RIAA built in.
3000,3300,5005,5500,8000,8500 & 9500 & TX2 dont have an RIAA fitted.
