355f:It depends rather what BR disc one is watching ,
Correct. I have around 30 Blu-rays from some of the earliest through to the newest, such as Batman Begins. I've noticed a massive difference - with some no better than the SD equivalents. However, some of the more recent Blu-rays are absolutely stunning. Batman Begins is a very good example.
Indeed, I would only say I'm satisfied with <1/4 of my Blu-ray collection. By 'satisfied', I mean they were worth buying, watching and keeping. The others are only a small step-up from SD.
355f, I share a little of your pessimism after recent events. My new BV8-26 had various issues and had to be sw updated twice. Now my BV7-40. Although my local B&O have been fantastic, I think I'm starting to stretch their patience. However, I just want a BV8-26 that connected to my BV7-40 without issues and I don't want my BV7-40 to switch off unexpectedly. I can live with the white flash issue on the PS3 - but turning off, I can't.
