    BV7-40 mkIII doesn't show PS3 start-up or bluray

After some time, I connected my PS3 again via HDMI. My BV740-MKIII has SW 4.17

Before everything worked just fine, but now: I don't see the start-up screen anymore, but do hear sound. It also plays stored games, but no bluray's. I can't tell if the problem started after the upgrade to SW 4.17

Connected to another (Philips) LCD-tv, everything works ok.

    Any solutions?!

Try switching to any other source, wait untill you have picture and sound, and then switch back.  I've seen similar problems with some DirecTV Satellite receivers.

If the PS3 is off, press and hold the power on button for about 10secs, the PS3 will beep, and the video/audio settings will be reset, you can then step through the PS3 init procedure again.

Sometimes on mine I loose the audio, but if I press DTV on the Beo4, wait, then press VMEM (for my PS3) then then sound comes back, weird...

I did not think of the reset settings function i have used this b4

    i woudl liek ot ask

I have just ordered my MK3 and willbe connecting PS3 to my TV via HDMI and wanted to know if you have the HDMI and SPDIF connected or if its all being done with the HDMI

I know my sky box will use HDMI and TOSLINK / SPDIF as sky hdmi does not contain dobly but the PS3 does so will it work or do i need to buy another TOSHLINK and convertor to SPDIF

Just use the HDMI cable for the PS3.

As for the SkyHD I would of thought again you would only need the HDMI cable and not the TosLink, because the TosLink would only be used if you are connecting the video via the component cables, or am I missing something?
