I have Sky HD connected to Scart (sound) and Optial for (audio) and component (HD)

    Beomedia connected using DVI

PS3 using some rubbish scart lead.

I am thinking of upgrading the tele to the BV7 MK3

    i will connect the

    SKY = HDMI & Optical / coax

    PS3 = HDMI & Optialal / coax

How does the Beomedia connect on the MK3 is there still DVI for connection for Beomedia in HD as beomedia does not have HDMI?

i also thought MK3 was dolby digital 7.1 also

and there appears to be some powerlink connections missing for the center channel as teh MK2 has connections for cinema center and normal center?

    Re: BV7 Mark 3

The MK3 have 4 HDMI-inputs (which carries audio and video). The SkyHD-box connects to HDMI1, the PS3 connects to HDMI2 and the BeoMedia (which have DVI, which is the same thing as HDMI but without sound) connects to HDMI3 (you need a cable which is HDMI in one end and DVI-I in the other end, costs about $10 at RadioShack) + an additional RCA-style cable for audio from the Beomedia (like you already have today). Good luck and enjoy your MK3 (which is raf better than the MK2)..

Beomedia is connected via VGA for video and RCA for audio.

You can get sound from Sky HD Box via HDMI too. Also, BV7 has spdif connections for digital audio.

oh right so the stereo and video is via HDMI and the digital sound is with SPdif excellent.

so i can loose the rubbish scart lead

now i just need to get someone to buy my bv7 mk2 or part Ex it.

so they bv7 mk3 has VGA input now then that is good

Digital sound is via HDMI too.

You need a VGA-VGA cable for Beomedia.

oh another quick question is the BV7 every going to be upgraded with a Blueray player for example a MK4 that woudl be more worth wait for or not as currently i woudl use the ps3 to play blueray on it but thats not optimal if you have B&o and want an all in one solution.

It depends how long you want to wait. Anyway, I don't know if BlueRay will be an update of the Mk3 or a new BV7 (Mk4).

Who knows? I don't think we'll see a MKIV this year, personally. I think B&O are working on the new BV7-32 chassis.

How long are you prepared to wait? Like any new technology, wait a little longer and there's always a potential update on the horizon. Also, like 335f says, there's no Internet support on the BV7-40, and as Blu-ray drives are updated regularly, it's going to be tricky for B&O to support and update a BV7-40 with a Blu-ray drive. For this reason, it's likely that B&O are waiting for Blu-ray to settle down before committing to an internal drive. You'd see an external drive first.

    Be careful, I have a BV7 - 32 MARK 3 and thre is only a $###-ty DVI-D connector. I guess that your talking about the BV7-40 right??

Now, i need to buy a splitter to have more than 1 HD Source. Thats pretty rubbish considering its a HD TV!!!!!

To put this all into context, i received it (BV7-32 MK3 + BL7-4 + Floor Stand + Beo5) brand new yesterday and now wish i never got rid of my AVANT!

Didn't you know before you bought the TV? Also, an upgrade BV7-32 - with two HDMI sockets - is due relatively soon.

Nope. I thought my dealer told me that there were 3 HDMI connections!

Can you tell me more about that 2 HDMI sockets BV7-32. What would need replacing? My TVs type number is: 9334

    Thanks

If your dealer said there were 3 HDMI connections, I'd ask them to take the TV back. In the UK, if we're sold something which isn't the same as described, we can return the goods.

You can't upgrade nor fix your BV7-32. The updated version with 2 HDMI sockets is due later this year. No-one knows when, but we know it's going to happen.

So thats the MK4?? Is that going to be the biggest change to it?

The thing is that its caged, so id rather not change it if possible. Ill give my dealer some stick though!!

    Thank you moxxey!

    Re: BV7 Mark 3

    hi all

after considering a change to MK3 i have popped over to my local dealer to find out that

the MK3 might or might not be able to retro fit a blueray player into the TV

the MK4 news will be abail later this year

i know that if i spent money on the MK3 and then had to forever play blueray with an external drive after my tv has a nice drive built in then i woudl be annoyed

i hope the MK3 can be retro fitted then i will upgrade but looks liek i have to wait for september when there shoudl be more info.

Does anyone esle have any info on the MK3 havin a blueray player fitted thats what no one seems ot know.

    Re: BV7 Mark 3

also is it correct you can connect 10 powerlink speakers to the bv7.

if so how as there are only 6 powerlink connections, are they now assigned a rear middle front setting via the tv as they do not appear to have writing next to them?

My understanding is that 12 speakers plus two subwoofers can be connected. They are connected in pairs, in series, using the dual power link connections on the speakers and then the left/right switch on the speakers is used.

    Razlaw,

Ask the dealer/instaler to bring along their service laptop computer, or schedule a second visit.  If your BV-7 is already allocated to you and shipping, then it is highly unlikely that it has already had software installed which was just made available Wednesday.

    Possible, but unlikely.

I wish I could afford the 9's a great sound.

I have lab 1's allround and they make great rear Speaker as well. Id like a lab 10 for a centre speaker. And the pictures I have seen on here with it under a Bv7-40 look so so nice.
